Derek Wright
American guard Derek Wright (180-G-86) had a very impressive game in the last round for U.Mobitel.CN, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 26-year old player got a double-double of 28 points and 13 assists, while his team beat Ploiesti (#6, 13-7) 97-88. U.Mobitel.CN is placed at 3rd position in Romanian Division A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. U.Mobitel.CN will need more victories to improve their 14-6 record. In the team's last game Wright had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be U.Mobitel.CN's top player in his first season with the team. Former Austin Peay State University star has very solid stats this year. Wright. Wright is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.9ppg) and averages impressive 3.3spg and 58.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old Serbian Andrija Ciric (199-G-80, agency: BeoExcell) of Targu Mures. Ciric had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Targu Mures lost that game 79-89 to the lower-ranked Giurgiu (#12, 7-13). This loss caused Targu Mures to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 14-6 record is not bad at all. Ciric is a newcomer at Targu Mures, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Christopher Lee (206-C-84, agency: Duran International) of CSU Sibiu (#10). Lee scored 13 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of CSU Sibiu, leading his team to a 110-46 easy win against Dinamo B. (#16, 0-20). CSU Sibiu needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 10 lost games. Lee has a great season in Romania. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mildon Ambres (198-F/G-84) of CSU Sibiu - 26 points and 5 rebounds
5. Predrag Miletic (193-SG-84) of Ploiesti - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Pankracije Barac (196-G-81) of Pitesti - 21 points and 3 assists
7. Mihail-Octavian Paul (188-PG-82) of CSU Sibiu - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Louis Darby (196-G-84) of Rovinari - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Vladimir Tica (208-C/F-81) of Ploiesti - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jevohn Shepherd (196-F-86) of CSM Bucuresti - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
