Leader ICIM Arad delivered the eighteenth win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Sp.Studentesc (8-12) 109-47. The game without a history. ICIM Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sp.Studentesc's 24. ICIM Arad forced 21 Sp.Studentesc turnovers and outrebounded them 54-23 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. ICIM Arad looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Sp.Studentesc's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Jennifer Risper (175-87, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Her fellow American import forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds. ICIM Arad's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Mihaela Chelariu (188-92) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds. ICIM Arad (18-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place. Sp.Studentesc lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Craiova. ICIM Arad are looking forward to face CSM Targoviste (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sp.Studentesc will play against Brasov (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Oradea (0-18) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 71-58 loss to eleventh ranked Targu Mures (6-14) in Oradea. It was a good game for American power forward Chantel Hilliard (187-90, college: Auburn) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Takesha Riggs contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alexandra Vlaicu (178-91) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds for Oradea. Targu Mures maintains eleventh place with 6-14 record. Oradea lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Targu Mures will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oradea will play on the road against Alba Iulia (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The best for the losing side was Alexandra Vlaicu with 11 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alexandria. They maintain sixth place with 12-7 record. Oradea lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Alexandria will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oradea will play against Alba Iulia (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
The game in Timisoara was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Alexandria (12-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Timisoara (10-8). Alexandria managed to secure a 4-point victory 78-74. Ashley Arlen nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alexandria. They maintain sixth place with 12-7 record. Timisoara at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Alexandria will have a break next round. Timisoara will play on the road against Cluj Napoca (#13).

In the last two games of round 21 Craiova defeated Rapid in Craiova 82-75. Craiova was smashed by Satu Mare at home 47-68.

Rapid - Craiova 75-82

There was no surprise in Bucuresti where 12th ranked Rapid (4-14) was defeated by tenth ranked Craiova (8-12) 82-75. Rapid was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 23-15 charge of Craiova, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Craiova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 84.6 percentage. Serbian guard Marija Prlja (163-87) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists for the winning side and Serbian center Zorica Mitov (189-87) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Craiova players scored in double figures. The former international guard Florina Diaconu (170-82) came up with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Raluca Ungureanu (180-80) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for Rapid in the defeat. Craiova moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sp.Studentesc. Rapid at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Craiova's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Satu Mare at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rapid will play against Sf.Gheorghe (#4) in Sfantu Gheorghe.
