William
Franklin
American point guard William Franklin (183-PG-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Oradea, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Timba Timis. (#13, 5-18) 79-78. It allowed Oradea to consolidate first place in the Romanian Division A. Oradea have a solid 19-4 record. In the team's last game Franklin had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Oradea and it's hard to imagine this team without him. William Franklin averages this season 9.8ppg and 4.1apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Perry Petty (185-G-88) of Giurgiu. Petty had a very good evening with 28 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Giurgiu lost that game 69-88 to the higher-ranked U.Mobitel.CN (#4, 16-7). Giurgiu is still in a red zone at 12th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-15 record. Petty is a newcomer at Giurgiu, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 3.8apg. Former University of Texas-Pan American star Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Travis Bureau (200-G-88, agency: SDJ Sports) of league's second-best Craiova. Bureau scored 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Craiova, leading his team to a 92-76 easy win against the lower-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (#15, 3-20). Craiova needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 5 lost games. Bureau has a very solid season. In 22 games in Romania he scored 14.3ppg. He also has 5.2rpg and FGP: 65.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Spencer Dixon (182-G) of Dinamo B. - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Vladimir Tica (208-C/F-81) of Ploiesti - 22 points and 6 rebounds
6. Alhaji Mohammed (192-G-81) of Ploiesti - 28 points and 4 rebounds
7. Hristo Nikolov (200-PF-85) of U.Mobitel.CN - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Dalibor Djapa (205-F/C-84) of U.Mobitel.CN - 19 points and 11 rebounds
9. Ousmane Barro (207-C/F-84) of Targu Mures - 16 points and 8 rebounds
10. Dominique Archie (200-F-87) of Timisoara - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
