Twelfth-ranked Giurgiu (8-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Oradea (20-4) on Wednesday. The visitors from Oradea managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Oradea forced 19 Giurgiu turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84) who scored 31 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard William Franklin (183-85, college: Bradley) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists. Oradea maintains first position with 20-4 record. Giurgiu at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Oradea are looking forward to face Farul Const. (#14) in Constanca in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Giurgiu will play on the road against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Medias. Local Gaz Metan (16-8) outscored 16th ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (1-23) 84-48. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Adrian Gutoaia contributed with 16 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Leonard Filip (200-93) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds for CS Dinamo Bucuresti. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaz Metan have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-8 record, which they share with Timisoara. CS Dinamo Bucuresti lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Gaz Metan will play against CSU Sibiu (#9) on the road in the next round. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against Timba Timosoara (#13) in Timisoara to get more than just one victory in their record.

Rest of the games of round 24 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Miercurea Ciuc was defeated by Timisoara in a road game 89-71. Ploiesti beat CSU Sibiu at home 79-66. Pitesti won against Timba Timis. on the opponent's court 81-68. Targu Mures managed to outperform Rovinari in a home game 92-84. CSM Bucuresti recorded a loss to Craiova on the road 78-71. Farul Const. was defeated by U.Mobitel.CN on its own court 65-77.
The best stats of 24th round was 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Louis Darby of Rovinari.


Timisoara - Miercurea Ciuc 89-71

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Miercurea Ciuc (3-21) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Timisoara (16-8) 89-71. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Timisoara's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-15 extending their advantage to 18 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Miercurea Ciuc's players. It was a good game for Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 assists and 4 steals.
