Serbian Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-F/C-84, agency: BeoExcell) had a great game in the last round for Gaz Metan and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24. The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 24 points and ten rebounds, while his team outclassed Dinamo B. (#16, 1-23) with 36-point margin 84-48. Thanks to this victory Gaz Metan moved-up to the 7th position in the Romanian Division A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gaz Metan will need more victories to improve their 16-8 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Mladenovic as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Aleksandar Mladenovic averages this season 10.3ppg and 5.5rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American guard Louis Darby (196-G-84) of Rovinari. Darby impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Rovinari lost that game 84-92 to the higher-ranked Targu Mures (#3, 17-7). This loss caused Rovinari to drop to 11th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-13 record. Darby is well-known by Rovinari fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.6ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 6.7rpg and 3.3apg.
The third best performed player last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Jovanovic (181-PG-84, agency: Beo Basket) of Timisoara (#6). Jovanovic scored 26 points and passed ten assists (!!!). He was a key player of Timisoara, leading his team to a 89-71 easy win against the lower-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (#15, 3-21). Timisoara needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 8 lost games. Jovanovic has a great season in Romania. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (6th best) and assists with 6.5apg (3rd best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Milos Pesic (205-F-84) of Oradea - 31 points and 9 rebounds 5. Catalin Burlacu (210-C-77) of Ploiesti - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
