The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with extra overtimes and games ending by tiny margin.

Liga Nationala top team - CSM Targoviste (21-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Cluj Napoca (4-17) 95-39. The game without a history. CSM Targoviste led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cluj Napoca to just 5 points in third quarter and to 11 points in second half. CSM Targoviste held Cluj Napoca to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 60.0 percent accuracy of the winners. CSM Targoviste forced 26 Cluj Napoca turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. CSM Targoviste looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Cluj Napoca's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Andreea Hutanu (185-88) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Flavia Ferenczi (175-91) answered with 8 points and 6 assists for Cluj Napoca. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSM Targoviste have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-1 record. Cluj Napoca lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. CSM Targoviste are looking forward to face Timisoara (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cluj Napoca will play against Alexandria (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.

At the losing side American forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for CSM Targoviste. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-1 record. Alba Iulia at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. CSM Targoviste will play against Timisoara (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alba Iulia will play against Rapid in Bucuresti and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Oradea is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 24th consecutive match to third ranked Satu Mare (19-4) 78-27 on Friday evening. Shanika Freeman nailed 5 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Ruxandra Chis came up with 5 points and 5 rebounds for Oradea in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Satu Mare maintains third place with 19-4 record having just one points less than leader Targoviste. Oradea lost their twentieth third game in a row. They still closes the standings with 24 games lost. Satu Mare will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oradea will play against the league's second-placed ICIM Arad (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Tenth-ranked Craiova (9-14) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Alexandria (14-8). The visitors from Alexandria managed to secure only three-point victory 70-67. However their fans expected much easier game. Shanita Arnold fired 30 points and 8 assists for the winners. Alexandria maintains sixth place with 14-8 record. Craiova at the other side keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Alexandria's next round opponent will be Cluj Napoca (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Craiova will play against Brasov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a very good performance for Chrissy Givens who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ICIM Arad maintains second place with 20-2 record behind leader Targoviste. Loser Brasov keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. ICIM Arad will face Oradea (#14) in Oradea in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Brasov will play on the road against Craiova (#10) in Craiova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 25 were not that significant. Targu Mures was beaten by Rapid on the road 77-65. Cluj Napoca were destroyed by Sf.Gheorghe on its own court 45-89. Sp.Studentesc was outscored by Timisoara in a road game 84-61.
The most impressive performance of 25th round was 29 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists by Florina Diaconu of Rapid.



Brasov - ICIM Arad 73-97

The game in Brasov supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked ICIM Arad (20-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Brasov (10-15). ICIM Arad smashed Brasov 97-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. ICIM Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brasov to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. ICIM Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Brasov's 34. ICIM Arad forced 20 Brasov turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Brasov's players. It was a very good performance for American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Her fellow American import forward Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. American guard Brandie Hoskins (175-85) answered with 33 points (!!!) and point guard Gabriela Cursaru (169-92) added 18 points and 4 steals in the effort for Brasov. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Rapid (6-16) beat 11th ranked Targu Mures (7-15) in Bucuresti 77-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rapid. Targu Mures was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapid forced 21 Targu Mures turnovers. Quite impressive performance for the former international guard Florina Diaconu (170-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Guard Monica Nicolaescu (167-83) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American power forward Chantel Hilliard (187-90, college: Auburn) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Lashawn Johnson (188-86, college: Illinois St.) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Targu Mures. Targu Mures' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapid maintains twelfth place with 6-16 record. Loser Targu Mures keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Rapid will face higher ranked Alba Iulia (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Liga Nationala top team - CSM Targoviste (21-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Alba Iulia (15-7) 77-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alba Iulia. Alba Iulia was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. CSM Targoviste made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. CSM Targoviste outrebounded Alba Iulia 45-25 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. International forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel) stepped up and scored 30 points for the winners and LBRn point guard Matee Ajavon (170-86, college: Rutgers) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for CSM Targoviste. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-1 record. Alba Iulia at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. CSM Targoviste will play against Timisoara (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alba Iulia will play against Rapid in Bucuresti and hopes to get back on the winning track.
