The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Round 25 most important game was a victory of Targu Mures over 6th ranked U-Mobitelco 111-105 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of U-Mobitelco. 27 personal fouls committed by U-Mobitelco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian guard Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) answered with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for U-Mobitelco. Targu Mures have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ploiesti. U-Mobitelco at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Gaz Metan and Timisoara. Targu Mures is looking forward to face league's leader Oradea at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U-Mobitelco will play against CSM Bucuresti (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Craiova (19-6) against sixth ranked Timisoara (17-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Craiova was defeated by Timisoara in a tough game in Timisoara 81-85. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Craiova. American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 assists for the winners and Dominique Archie chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side the former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN and Gaz Metan. Craiova at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Timisoara will play against higher ranked Ploiesti (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Craiova will play against Rovinari and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Division A top team - Oradea (21-4) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Farul Const. (4-21) 97-44. Daniel Dillon nailed 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Oradea's coach Christian Achim felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jeremi Booth came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds for Farul Const. in the defeat. Oradea have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-4 record. Newly promoted Farul Const. keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Oradea will meet Targu Mures (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Farul Const. will play against Pitesti (#10) and hope to secure a win.
Ninth-ranked CSU Sibiu (12-13) used its home court advantage to challenge seventh ranked Gaz Metan (17-8). The visitors from Medias managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected easier game. Ivan Ivanovic fired 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Gaz Metan have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN and Timisoara. CSU Sibiu at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Gaz Metan's next round opponent will be Miercurea Ciuc (#15) at home and are hoping to win another game. CSU Sibiu will play against Timba Timosoara (#13) in Timisoara.
Important game to mention about took place in Rovinari. Eleventh ranked Rovinari (12-13) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 8th ranked CSM Bucuresti (15-10) 86-84 on Monday evening. It was a very good performance for Louis Darby who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Rovinari moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Pitesti and CSU Sibiu. CSM Bucuresti lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Rovinari will face league's second-placed Craiova on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Other games in round 25 were not that significant. Ploiesti beat Miercurea Ciuc on the road 91-75. Pitesti won against Giurgiu on its own court 73-67. Timba Timis. outscored Dinamo B. in Timisoara 94-65.
The most impressive performance of 25th round was 30 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by Octavian Calota of Pitesti.


Oradea - Farul Const. 97-44

Division A top team - Oradea (21-4) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Farul Const. (4-21) 97-44. The game without a history. Oradea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Farul Const. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Oradea dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Farul Const.'s 32. They outrebounded Farul Const. 44-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Oradea looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Farul Const.'s players. Australian-Trinidad and Tobago swingman Daniel Dillon (194-86, college: Arizona) nailed 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and the former international Laszlo Lazar (207-87) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Oradea players scored in double figures. Oradea's coach Christian Achim felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jeremi Booth (195-87, college: Appalachian St.) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin center Bojan Grubisic (212-80) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Farul Const. in the defeat. Very important is a road loss of second ranked Craiova (19-6) against sixth ranked Timisoara (17-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Craiova was defeated by Timisoara in a tough game in Timisoara 81-85. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Craiova. Craiova was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 24-17 charge of Timisoara, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Craiova turnovers. Strangely Craiova outrebounded Timisoara 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side the former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian guard Rade Dzambic (188-80, college: NYIT, agency: TSS Management) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN and Gaz Metan. Craiova at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Timisoara will play against higher ranked Ploiesti (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Craiova will play against Rovinari and hopes to get back on the winning track.
