There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Liga Nationala.

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Liga Nationala took place in Timisoara. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked BC Timisoara (12-8) to third ranked CSU Sibiu (13-6) 73-72 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BC Timisoara. BC Timisoara was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 19-10 charge of CSU Sibiu, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by BC Timisoara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Bogdan Popescu (200-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. CSU Sibiu have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-6 record having four points less than leader UBT Cluj Napoca. BC Timisoara at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Pitesti. CSU Sibiu are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Olimpic (#11) in Baia Mare in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Timisoara will have a break next round.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bucuresti. Second ranked Steaua CSM faced 4th placed Pitesti. Host Steaua CSM (14-5) defeated guests from Pitesti (12-8) 77-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pitesti. It was a good game for American power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Cameron Long contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian center Alexandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) answered with 17 points for Pitesti. Pitesti's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Steaua CSM maintains second place with 14-5 record having just three points less than leader UBT Cluj Napoca. Pitesti at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with BC Timisoara. Steaua CSM will play against Craiova (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pitesti will play against Targu Mures (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The best for the losing side was Andrei Mandache with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UBT Cluj Napoca (17-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Oradea lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. UBT Cluj Napoca will meet at home CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oradea will play against Phoenix Galati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Craiova, where 7th ranked Targu Mures (9-10) were outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Craiova (5-14) 91-72. Darius Hargrove nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Targu Mures' coach Barnabas Szaszgaspar tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Craiova maintains tenth place with 5-14 record. Targu Mures lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Craiova's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last game of round 21 Dinamo B. were defeated by Phoenix Galati in a road game 93-87.

Phoenix Galati - Dinamo B. 93-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti's (6-14) road loss to eighth ranked Phoenix Galati (7-12) 87-93. CS Dinamo Bucuresti was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 51-44 second half run of Phoenix Galati. They made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by CS Dinamo Bucuresti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 27 points and 7 assists. Serbian guard Slobodan Dundjerski (188-88) came up with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian-Serbian guard Marko Sutalo (194-83) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for CS Dinamo Bucuresti in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Phoenix Galati maintains eighth place with 7-12 record. CS Dinamo Bucuresti at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Phoenix Galati's next round opponent will be higher ranked Oradea (#6) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against the league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

We should mention about the upset which took place in Craiova, where 7th ranked Targu Mures (9-10) were outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Craiova (5-14) 91-72. It looked good early as Targu Mures took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Craiova had a 30-15 second period charge getting the lead and Targu Mures were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-91. Craiova players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Targu Mures' players. American guard Darius Hargrove (195-82, college: Virginia Union) nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 21 points. Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Ernests Kalve (200-87, agency: HMS) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Targu Mures in the defeat.
