American Guard Phillip Miller (185-G-91, agency: 011 Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Phoenix Galati, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, four rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Dinamo B. (#3, 5-14) 85-78. Phoenix Galati is placed at 2nd position in their group in Romanian Liga Nationala. Phoenix Galati is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 13th lost game this season out of 19 games. In the team's last game Miller had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Phoenix Galati, being already a very valuable addition to the team.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old American Kyndall Dykes (192-SG-87) of league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca. Dykes had a very good evening with 29 points and 3 rebounds. It was enough for UBT Cluj Napoca to edge Oradea (10-10) 84-79. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Dykes is well-known at UBT Cluj Napoca and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 5.1rpg and 3.8apg. Former University of New Orleans star Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was Montenegrin guard Goran Martinic (187-PG-87) of league's top team Targu Mures. Martinic scored 20 points and passed eleven assists (!!!). He was a key player of Targu Mures, leading his team to a 85-77 win against #4 ranked Craiova in a game of the week. The chances of Targu Mures ranking at the top of Places 7-10, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Martinic could help Targu Mures to bring them higher in the standings. Martinic has a great season in Romania. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (4th best) and assists with 7.3apg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Christopher Lee (206-F/C-85) of Craiova - 19 points and 11 rebounds
5. Ernests Kalve (200-F-87) of Targu Mures - 19 points and 5 rebounds
6. Tayloe Taylor (191-G-86) of Craiova - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Drew Brandon (193-G-92) of Phoenix Galati - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists
8. Martin Zeno (196-G-85) of Oradea - 22 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Vlad Moldoveanu (206-PF-88) of UBT Cluj Napoca - 19 points and 11 rebounds
10. Alexandar Mladenovic (207-C-84) of Pitesti - 23 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
