Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The most surprising game was a loss of UBT Cluj Napoca (18-3) on the court of BC Timisoara on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by BC Timisoara 78-69. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-69. It was a good game for Serbian guard Mladen Jeremic (198-88, agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-84) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Serbian-Bosnian point guard Filip Adamovic (183-88, agency: 011 Sports) answered with 16 points and 7 assists for UBT Cluj Napoca. BC Timisoara are looking forward to face Steaua CSM (#3) in Bucuresti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBT Cluj Napoca will play at home against CSU Sibiu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Galati. Phoenix Galati (7-13) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Targu Mures (9-11) 94-91 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Tony Gugino helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) with 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Targu Mures' coach Barnabas Szaszgaspar rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Phoenix Galati will play against Oradea (#4) at home in the next round. Targu Mures will have a break next round.

Randal Falker came up with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for Steaua CSM in the defeat. Oradea will meet Phoenix Galati on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Steaua CSM will play against BC Timisoara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of CS Dinamo Bucuresti (5-15) against Craiova (5-15) on Saturday night. Visiting CS Dinamo Bucuresti was crushed by Craiova in Craiova 84-64. The best player for the winners was Tayloe Taylor who scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Very important is a road loss of Steaua CSM (13-8) against Oradea (11-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Steaua CSM was defeated by Oradea in a tough game in Oradea 72-80. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 25-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Steaua CSM outrebounded Oradea 33-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) who led the winners and scored 28 points. The former international swingman Andrei Mandache (191-87) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. No shocking result in a game when CSU Sibiu (14-7) beat at home Pitesti (10-11) 84-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pitesti won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marcel Davis (188-94, college: Utah Valley) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
