The game between Top Four teams took place in Sibiu. Third ranked host CSU Sibiu (16-9) smashed their biggest opponent Steaua CSM (15-10) 76-55. It was a key game for the second position in Nationala. The game was mostly controlled by CSU Sibiu. Steaua CSM managed to win third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Serbian point guard Igor Mijajlovic (192-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Bogdan Popescu (200-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 16 points. Steaua CSM's coach Vasile Fometescu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. CSU Sibiu moved-up to second place in Nationala. Steaua CSM at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. CSU Sibiu are looking forward to face Pitesti (#6) on the road in the next round. Steaua CSM will play against Oradea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Lamarcus Reed (196-88, college: Texas Arlington) who led the winners and scored 25 points. Goran Martinic accounted for 14 points and 9 assists. American swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 30 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for Craiova in the defeat. Craiova's coach Vladimir Vuksanovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Targu Mures maintains first place in Nationala with 10-12 record. Craiova at the other side keeps the third position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Slobodan Dundjerski produced 17 points and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Phoenix Galati maintains second place in Nationala with 8-14 record having just two points less than leader Targu Mures. Loser CS Dinamo Bucuresti keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Liga Nationala top team - UBT Cluj Napoca (22-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat sixth ranked Pitesti (10-15) 89-73. The game was mostly controlled by UBT Cluj Napoca. Pitesti was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UBT Cluj Napoca dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Pitesti's 32. UBT Cluj Napoca had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-84, college: Marquette) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Bulgarian Pavel Marinov (199-88, agency: Interperformances) answered with 16 points and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and Croatian Tomislav Gabric (204-95) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pitesti. Five UBT Cluj Napoca and four Pitesti players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oradea - BC Timisoara 82-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked BC Timisoara's (12-13) road loss to fourth ranked Oradea (14-11) 72-82. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. BC Timisoara was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Oradea players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Canadian center Sean Denison (210-85, college: Santa Clara, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. American point guard William Franklin (184-85, college: Bradley, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Octavian Calota (189-84) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for BC Timisoara. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains fourth place in Nationala with 14-11 record. BC Timisoara at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Oradea's next round opponent will be higher ranked Steaua CSM (#3) in Bucuresti and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Timisoara will play on the road against the league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca and hope to win that game.

Defending champion U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (Liga Nationala) landed 29-year old Croatian international forward Zeljko Sakic (204-98kg-88, agency: BeoBasket). He played most recently at Cibona in Croatian A1 league. Sakic managed to play in four leagues last year (!!!).
