There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in Liga Nationala. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The most important game in the last round took place in Pitesti between second ranked CSU Sibiu (16-10) and sixth ranked Pitesti (11-15) on Wednesday night. CSU Sibiu was defeated by Pitesti in a tough game on the road 79-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CSU Sibiu. CSU Sibiu was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 29-22 charge of Pitesti, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Vincent Hunter (209-84, college: Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian Tomislav Gabric (204-95) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Pitesti maintains sixth position with 11-15 record. CSU Sibiu at the other side keeps the second place with ten games lost. They share the position with Steaua CSM. Pitesti are looking forward to face higher ranked Oradea (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CSU Sibiu will play against the league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bucuresti. Third ranked Steaua CSM faced 4th ranked Oradea. Host Steaua CSM (16-10) defeated guests from Oradea (14-12) 85-70. Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Levente Szijarto contributed with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds for Oradea. Steaua CSM moved-up to second place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Defending champion Oradea keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Steaua CSM will play against BC Timisoara (#5) on the road in the next round. Oradea will play against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

BC Timisoara will play against the league's second-placed Steaua CSM and hope to secure a win.

Leader UBT Cluj Napoca delivered the twenty third victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked BC Timisoara (12-14) 96-66. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-66. UBT Cluj Napoca shot 66.0 percent from the field and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. UBT Cluj Napoca forced 19 BC Timisoara turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. UBT Cluj Napoca looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Serbian-Bosnian point guard Filip Adamovic (183-88, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and the former international Vlad Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American) who added 15 points during the contest. Defending champion U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (Liga Nationala) landed 29-year old Croatian international forward Zeljko Sakic (204-98kg-88, agency: BeoBasket). He played most recently at Cibona in Croatian A1 league. Sakic managed to play in four leagues last year (!!!).
