Goran
Martinic
Montenegrin Point guard Goran Martinic (187-PG-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Targu Mures, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, six rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Dinamo B. (#4, 6-18) with 25-point margin 74-49. It allowed Targu Mures to consolidate first place in the Romanian Liga Nationala. Targu Mures is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 12th lost game this season out of 24 games. In the team's last game Martinic had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Targu Mures and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Goran Martinic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.2ppg) and averages impressive 2.1spg and 57.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Travis Bureau (202-F-88, agency: Inception Sports) of league's second-best Craiova. Bureau had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Craiova cruised to a 85-73 relatively comfortable win over Phoenix Galati (8-16). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Places 7-10. Craiova consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-16 record. Bureau is one of the most experienced players at Craiova and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bulgarian Pavel Marinov (199-SF-88, agency: Interperformances) of Pitesti (#6). Marinov scored 27 points and passed six assists. Despite Marinov's great performance Pitesti lost 90-97 to slightly higher-ranked BC Timisoara (#5, 13-15). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Pitesti not to end season at such low position in Places 1-6, however are less than slim as they have already lost 17 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Marinov could try to bring Pitesti's a little bit higher in the standings. Marinov has individually a great season in Romania. After 31 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.0apg (8th best). He also has FGP: 51.9% and 3PT: 40.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Christopher Lee (206-F/C-85) of Craiova - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Kevin Hardy (188-G-93) of CSU Sibiu - 16 points and 16 rebounds
6. Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85) of BC Timisoara - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Mladen Jeremic (198-G-88) of BC Timisoara - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Milos Bojovic (198-G/F-81) of Phoenix Galati - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Ioan Alin Borsa (201-F-90) of Targu Mures - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Vincent Hunter (209-C/F-84) of Pitesti - 17 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
