CSKA jumped to 2-0 in Top 16 phase (Group G). The Russian powerhouse cruised past Zalgiris in Kaunas making a huge step forward to Euroleague Quarterfinals. At the same time, the Greens dropped to 0-2. CSKA jumped to 2-0 in Top 16 phase (Group G). The Russian powerhouse cruised past Zalgiris in Kaunas making a huge step forward to Euroleague Quarterfinals. At the halfway of the second period Tadas Klimavicius and his teammates jumped to impressive 42-27 lead and the crowd in Kaunas arena exploded. However, the experienced Russian team had an answer for that, and they made 3-8 run for rest of the way in the first half. Thus, after 20 minutes of play it still was 45-35 for the hosts. In just few minutes of third period CSKA cut the margin to 51-48. Soon after that, Vorontsevich gave CSKA its first lead from the line as quiet fell over the arena. CSKA was 53-57 up, before Marcus Brown drained a long range triple for Zalgiris to close this period. Visitors opened the last quarter with crucial 2-14 run. Siskauskas, Viktor Khryapa and Trajan Langdon shined at that time. Zalgiris tried to mount a comeback, but Trajan Langdon stopped them with another triple and CSKA celebrated second victory in Top 16.

Olympiakos managed to grab the second consecutive victory in Top 16. The Reds outplayed Khimky for 2-0 in Group H. After 10 minutes of play, it was already clear that Olympiakos is going to take this one. The Reds opened this matchup with 4-0 and later jumped to 15-4 lead. That was not all, despite visitors finally woke up. Theo Papaloukas closed the first period with a basket and Oympiakos was excellent 22-10 up. The Russians improved after that. They got few important baskets from Javtokas, Jankunas and Mozgov closing the gap to 29-25. Olympiakos answered with mini 5-2 run and later, thanks to trio Sofoklis Schortsanitis - Yotam Halperin - Scoonie Penn, grabbed back double-digit lead (38-28, HT). At the halfway of third period Khimky again threatened coming to 44-40, but Olympiakos replied through Sofoklis Schortsanitis and Linas Kleiza. It was 58-52 for the hosts and just 3 second left in the period when Milos Teodosic made a basket-plus-foul, pushing his team up to 61-52. When Olympiakos reached 68-54 at the beginning of the last quarter, it was clear that Khimky is done. The hosts jumped to 78-59 in the finish celebrating second straight victory in Top 16.
