UMMC - Nadezhda O. 96-73

The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. Nadezhda Orenburg managed to win third quarter 27-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Nadezhda Orenburg's 46. They outrebounded Nadezhda Orenburg 43-19 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. UMMC Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Candace Parker (193-86, college: Tennessee) stepped up and scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Elena Dublievic responded with 15 points and international guard Elena Danilochkina (185-86) scored 12 points. Four Nadezhda Orenburg players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dynamo Kursk won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spartak Vidnoye made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American power forward Candice Dupree (188-84, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. International Anna Petrakova (189-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Dynamo Kursk in the defeat. Five Spartak Vidnoye and four Dynamo Kursk players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. Varvara Psareva (192-85) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and forward Lidiia Pupko (190-86) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Noginsk. Enisey Krasnoyarski kraj (PBL) added to their roster 25-year old American forward Whitney Bays (188-92, college: Purdue). She played last season at ZTE Noi Kosarlabda Klub in Hungarian A Division. In 15 games she recorded 12.1ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.9spg. Bays also spent pre-season at Energa Torun in Polish league that year. Catz Lappeenranta (SM-sarja) confirmed in their roster 31-year old Russian power forward Elena Reshetko (184-86). She has played there for the last twelve seasons.
