After graduating from Lake Howell High School he moved to Florida (NCAA) and averaged 15.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 6.1apg, 1.6spg, FGP: 42.6%, 3Pts: 36.7%, FT: 72.4%. In 2009 Nick was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA,2rd (45)) and later signed 3-year contract with Panathinaikos Athens (Greece-A1). In 2009-2010: for Panathinaikos Athens (Greece-A1) he showed 4.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.0apg in EuroLeague and in Greek League had 5.4ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.0apg, FGP: 60.0%, 3PT: 36.4%, FT: 62.2%. Last year for Panathinaikos Athens (Greece-A1, starting five) his stats read 7.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.4apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 58.2%, 3PT: 29.8%, FT: 50.0%. Over the last three seasons Nick Calathes became Greek Cup Finalist -10, 11, Greek League Champion -10, 11, Greek League Regular Season Champion -10 and Euroleague Champion -11. He was named Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League Most Improved Player of the Year -11, Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League 1st Team -11, Eurobasket.com Greek A1 League All-Defensive Team -11 and became Greek League Regular Season Runner-Up -11, 12. Lithuania University Team started the game with a 27-22 rally and erupted with a 33-16 surge in the second frame. Moreover the hosts dominated the second half and won another two quarters. Lithuania University Team won the third period 27-15 and then finished the game with 23-17 in the last stanza. Eimantas Bendzius (203-F-90) stepped up with 17 points for the winners and Adomas Drungilas (203-C-90) as well as Vytenis Cizauskas (190-SG-92) netted 15 each. Gediminas Orelikas (200-G/F-90) added 12, whilst Butkevicius had 10. Denis Zakharov (193-PG-93) replied with 16 points in the losing effort and Evstafev had 11. Alexander Zakharov (204-F/G-93) and Vladislav Trushkin (201-F-93) followed them with 10 points apiece. On Monday Lithuania U20 will take on Russia U20.
