We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Andrei Kirilenko (209-81, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to a Minnesota Timberwolves' victory against the Sacramento Kings (0-2) 92-80 in the NBA on Friday night. Kirilenko recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 31 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Minnesota Timberwolves this season. His team have 1-0 record this season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Kirilenko's first year with the team. He is a naturalized American. Kirilenko is currently a member of the Russian senior national team. He used to play for CSKA Moscow in Russian league.

   #2. Second place goes to University international center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in Baltic League). Nelyubov helped his Estonian team TU/Rock win their game against the closely-ranked Lietkabelis (3-1) 76-72 in the Baltic League last Monday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only 14 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group B. Tartu Ulikool/Rock (5-1) is placed first. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Baltic League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Nelyubov's first season with the team. This year Nelyubov averages: 7.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 2FGP: 57.1%(20-35) and FT: 75.0% in the six games he played so far. He played for the Russian university national team in 2011.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia). He was the major contributor in Kutaisi's victory against the league outsider STU (0-3) 76-63 in the Georgian Superleague last Friday. Babunashvili scored 12 points and had 3 steals. Kutaisi Kutaisi (1-0) is placed in the Superleague. Babunashvili's overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg, 3FGP: 25.0%. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Georgian. Former BC Khimky-3 Moscow reg. starter played for the Russian U18 national team four years ago.

Forward Aleksandr Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Belarus could not help the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk (0-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Fomin's very good performance the tenth-placed Tsmoki-Minsk was crushed 85-62 at home by the higher-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (#6) in the group B of VTB United League. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Fomin's overall stats this season are: 7.2ppg and 1.6rpg. He used to play for the Russian university national team last year.

   #5. U20 international forward Nikita Barinov (203-91, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to help Neptunas (1-3) in their game against CEZ Nymburk (2-2) in the VTB United League. He recorded 5 points and had 3 steals. Neptunas (#9) was defeated 84-78 on the road by the higher-ranked CEZ Nymburk (#8) in the group B of VTB United League. It was Neptunas' third consecutive loss in a row. Barinov's overall stats this season are: 2.8ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.5apg. He used to play for the Russian U20 national team last year.

Swingman Yaroslav Korolev (206-87, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Lagun Aro GBC (0-5) in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (1-5) in the Spanish ACB. Korolev cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The bottom-ranked Lagun Aro GBC was defeated 86-75 on their home court in San Sebastian by the higher-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15). So far Lagun Aro GBC lost all five games in the Regular Season. Korolev's overall stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 2.8rpg. He is a former international player as he played for the Russian senior team six years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece), who plays in the Greek A1 could not help PAOK (3-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance PAOK lost 78-89 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) KAOD. Papadopoulos was the top scorer with 31 points. He also added 6 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 2 blocks in 32 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Papadopoulos is ranked eighth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 15.0ppg. He also averaged so far 4.0rpg and 2.3apg in the three games he played so far. Papadopoulos has a dual citizenship: Russian and Greek.

   #2. Raul Lopez (183-PG-80, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a Gescrap BB's victory against the 11th-ranked Blancos de Rueda (3-3) 76-70 in the Spanish ACB last Saturday. He scored 14 points. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (4-1) is placed third in the ACB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Lopez averages: 8.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) led River Andorra to a victory over the tenth-ranked Ourense (0-1) crushing them 84-63 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Flis was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Flis has relatively good stats this season: 11.8ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Spanish.

   #4. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to Mykolaiv's victory against the closely-ranked Dnipro (3-7) 75-68 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Friday night. Adediran scored 14 points. MBC Mykolaiv (3-6) is placed ninth in the Superleague. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Adediran's overall stats this season are: 7.2ppg and 2.5rpg. He has both Nigerian and Russian nationalities.

   #5. Nikita Khartchenkov (200-F-87, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) was not able to help USC Leipzig (1-6) in their last game. Despite Khartchenkov's very good performance the bottom-ranked USC Leipzig was edged 91-90 in Karlsruhe by the leading BG Karlsruhe. He was the second best scorer with 21 points. Khartchenkov also added 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. Khartchenkov has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.3apg in the four games. Khartchenkov also holds two passports: Russian and German. Despite his Russian nationality, Khartchenkov previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #6. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Belarus was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk (0-5) in their last game. Despite Pustahvar's good performance the tenth-placed Tsmoki-Minsk lost in an overtime 106-110 in Klaipeda to the higher-ranked (#9) Neptunas in the group B of VTB United League. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Pustahvar also added 5 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. This year Pustahvar's overall stats are: 6.4ppg and 3.2rpg in the five games. He has Russian and Belarusian nationalities.

   #7. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus) managed to help BK Rubon Vitebsk in a victory against the closely-ranked Borisfen crushing them 101-70 in the Belarusian Premier League last Friday. Indrikov recorded only 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 21 minutes. This year Indrikov's overall stats are: 3.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.0apg in the four games.

   #8. Alexey Chubrevich (212-C-86, currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Maccabi Haifa in their game against Hapoel Eilat in the Israeli Winner League. Chubrevich cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 80-62. This year Chubrevich's overall stats are: 1.3ppg and 1.3rpg in the three games. He has dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli.

   #9. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague couldn't help Batumi (0-3) in their last game. Despite Kvelashvili's good performance Batumi was crushed 94-63 in Tbilisi by the much higher-ranked (#3) Olimpi. He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Kvelashvili also added 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Kvelashvili's overall stats are: 8.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.3spg in the three games. He has Russian and Georgian nationalities.

   #10. Albert Kuppe (195-F-88, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Oettinger Rockets Gotha's victory against the tenth-ranked Kirchheim Knights 92-85 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Kuppe scored 8 points. Kuppe's overall stats this season are: 5.6ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.1apg. He has dual citizenship: Russian and German. Despite Kuppe's Russian passport, he previously played for the German U18 national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

Russian powerhouseCSKA Moscow (VTB) is close to ink 27-year old American forward Will Clyburn (201-95kg-90, college: Iowa State) who currently plays Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul in Turkey. In 25 BSL games he recorded 10.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.4apg this season. He was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game.
