There were just four rounds played in Regular Season of PBL and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, favorites losing the games, games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Spartak St.Petersburg (2-1) on the court of top-ranked CSKA Moscow on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by CSKA Moscow 78-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spartak St.Petersburg. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 2-0 record before this meeting. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. CSKA Moscow made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Spartak St.Petersburg only scored five points from the stripe. 28 personal fouls committed by Spartak St.Petersburg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The former international forward Viktor Khryapa (203-82) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Patrick Beverley (185-88, college: Arkansas) replied with 16 points and 5 steals for Spartak St.Petersburg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA Moscow have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 3-0 record. Spartak St.Petersburg at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Krasnie Krilya. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Samara. Fifth ranked Krasnie Krilya (2-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (1-2) 68-67 on Saturday evening. Krasnie Krilya moved-up to third place, which they share with Spartak SP. Triumph Lyubertsy at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Krasnie Krilya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Triumph Lyubertsy will play at home against BC Nizhny Novgorod (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Unics Kazan's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Lokomotiv (2-3) 75-47 on Sunday. The winners were led by Kostas Kaimakoglou who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 10 points by Simas Jasaitis did not help to save the game for Lokomotiv. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan (1-1) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Loser Lokomotiv dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Unics Kazan will meet league's second-placed Khimky in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lokomotiv will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#10) and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to eighth ranked Spartak-Prim. (2-2) 76-75. American players dominated the game. Paul Delaney fired 24 points for the winners. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Spartak-Prim. moved-up to fifth place. Enisey Krasnoyarsk at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Spartak-Prim. will have a break next round. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will play on the road against Lokomotiv (#6) in Kuban and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Nizhny Novgorod was also quite interesting. Top-ranked Khimky (2-0) played at the court of 8th ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (1-3). Khimky managed to secure a 4-point victory 86-82 on Monday. It was a very good performance for Zoran Planinic who helped to win the game recording 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Khimky moved-up to second place. BC Nizhny Novgorod lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Khimky will face Unics Kazan (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
