We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Andrei Kirilenko (209-81, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Minnesota Timberwolves' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (2-2) 107-96 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Kirilenko had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 6 assists and 4 blocks in 33 minutes on the court. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 4-1 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Kirilenko has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 11.2ppg, 6.8rpg, 3.6apg, 2.2bpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 64.5%(20-31) and FT: 66.7% in the five games he played so far. Kirilenko is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the Russian senior national team. Kirilenko used to play for CSKA Moscow in Russian league.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Andrei Kirilenko. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Shved led Minnesota Timberwolves to a 2-point victory against the Indiana Pacers (2-4) 96-94. He scored 11 points and added 7 assists. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 4-1 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Shved has relatively good stats this season: 7.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.4apg, 2FGP: 57.1%, 3FGP: 23.5% and FT: 88.9%. He is in the roster of the Russian senior national team.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was University international center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Estonia. He could not help TU/Rock (0-1) to beat Khimik (1-0). Nelyubov recorded 9 points in only 9 minutes. It was his first game for TU/Rock this season. But the third-placed TU/Rock was edged 77-76 on the road by the second-ranked Khimik in the group D of EuroChallenge. Nelyubov played for the Russian university national team one years ago.

Center Timofey Mozgov (215-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Denver Nuggets to win against the Utah Jazz (2-4) crushing them 104-84 in the NBA on Friday night. He scored only 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. It was his first game for Denver Nuggets this season. His team have 3-3 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Mozgov is also Russian national team player.

Former U18 international forward Stanislav Dikiy (201-88, agency: New Trend Agency, currently plays in Ukraine) was not able to help Ferro-ZNTU (9-3) in their game against Hoverla (7-5) in the Ukrainian Superleague. He recorded 8 points in only 4 minutes. The league leader Ferro-ZNTU lost 85-100 in Frankivsk to the lower-ranked (#6) Hoverla. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. This year Dikiy averages only 1.2ppg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Russian U18 national team six years ago.

   #6. Guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia) led Kutaisi to a victory against the league outsider STU (0-3) 76-63 in the Georgian Superleague last Friday. He scored 12 points and had 3 steals in 21 minutes. Kutaisi Kutaisi (1-0) is placed in the Superleague. This year Babunashvili's overall stats are: 6.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg in the four games. He is a former U18 international player as he played for the Russian team four years ago.

Former international swingman Yaroslav Korolev (206-87, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an overtime Lagun Aro GBC's victory against one of league's weakest teams Assignia Manresa (0-6) 89-88 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Korolev scored 8 points. Lagun Aro Gipuzkoa BC (1-5) is placed 16th in the ACB. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. Korolev's total stats this season are: 4.8ppg and 2.7rpg. He used to play for the Russian national team six years ago.

Forward Aleksandr Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in EuroChallenge) was not able to secure a victory for Tsmoki-Minsk (0-1) in their game against Gravelines-Dunkerque (1-0) in the EuroChallenge. Fomin recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 15 minutes. It was his first game for Tsmoki-Minsk this season. Tsmoki-Minsk (#4) was crushed 96-63 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque in the group G of EuroChallenge. Fomin used to play for the Russian university national team last year.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Raul Lopez (183-PG-80, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Unicaja Malaga (4-2) 82-65 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Lopez scored 8 points in 17 minutes. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (5-1) is placed second in the ACB. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Lopez's overall stats are: 8.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 3.0apg in the six games he played so far.

   #2. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a River Andorra's victory against the closely-ranked Leyma Basquet (5-1) 73-61 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 17 points, had 8 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 3 shots. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Flis is currently fourth on the league's list of best blockers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.7ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.2bpg and 1.2spg. Flis has a dual citizenship: Russian and Spanish.

   #3. Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece) managed to help PAOK Thessaloniki to win against the closely-ranked Peristeri GS (2-2) 83-68 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Papadopoulos recorded only 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. PAOK Thessaloniki (3-2) is placed fourth in the A1. It's Papadopoulos' first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 4.5rpg and 3.3apg. Papadopoulos is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Greek.

   #4. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Ukraine) led Mykolaiv to a victory against the closely-ranked Dnipro (3-8) 75-68 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Friday night. He scored 14 points in 25 minutes. MBC Mykolaiv (4-7) is placed ninth in the Superleague. This year Adediran's overall stats are: 7.3ppg and 2.8rpg in the eight games. He has both Nigerian and Russian nationalities.

   #5. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus) led Rubon to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Svisloch (1-5) 81-69 in the Belarusian Premier League in Friday night's game. Indrikov was MVP of the game. He recorded 14 points and had 3 steals. BK Rubon Vitebsk (4-2) is placed third in the Premier League. Indrikov's overall stats this season are: 4.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.3apg.

   #6. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Belarus could not help Tsmoki-Minsk to beat Gravelines-Dunkerque. He recorded 7 points. It was his first game for Tsmoki-Minsk this season. His team was crushed by 33 points 96-63. Pustahvar also holds two passports: Russian and Belarusian.

   #7. Anton Kazarnovski (205-F/C-85, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli National League (second division) was not able to help Hapoel Kazrin (2-2) in their last game. Despite his good performance Hapoel Kazrin lost 83-89 on the road to the lower-ranked (#12) Hapoel Kfar Saba. Kazarnovski recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. This year Kazarnovski has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.3apg in the four games. He has Russian and Israeli nationalities. Despite Kazarnovski's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #8. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia) was not able to secure a victory for Batumi in their game against Olimpi in the Georgian Superleague. Despite his good performance in Saturday night's game Kvelashvili was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 5 rebounds. Kvelashvili belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #5. His total stats this season are: 8.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.3spg. Kvelashvili has dual citizenship: Russian and Georgian.

   #9. Youri Anissovets (203-F-88, college: Bevill St.-Fayette, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the University of Calgary in their game against the Bisons in the Canadian university league CIS. He scored 8 points in only 8 minutes. His team lost 68-76. This year Anissovets averages only 3.0ppg in the three games.

   #10. Igor Simin (197-G-84, currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Beer Yaakov in their game against Ironi Nahariya in the Israeli National League (second division). Despite his good performance on Tuesday night He recorded 12 points and added 4 passes. Simin's total stats this season are: 6.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.5apg. He has Russian and Israeli nationalities. Despite Simin's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

48-year old head coach Evgeny Pashutin (agency: BeoBasket) left Unics Kazan (VTB). Pashutin has coached there for the last three years. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he coached in the final of VTB United League in 2012, 2013 and 2016. Pashutin was also voted Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Coach of the Year back in 2012 and 2013.
