There were just five rounds played in Regular Season of PBL and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

Bottom-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Lokomotiv (3-3) 93-64 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Lokomotiv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Lokomotiv forced 20 Enisey Krasnoyarsk turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Enisey Krasnoyarsk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Australian center Aleks Maric (211-84, college: Nebraska) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 13 points and 11 assists for the winners. Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (210-88, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for Enisey Krasnoyarsk. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lokomotiv moved-up to second place. Enisey Krasnoyarsk at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Lokomotiv are looking forward to face Triumph Lyubertsy (#6) in Lubertsy in the next round. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 5 N.Novgorod was beaten by Triumph on the road 71-59.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 22 points and 6 rebounds by Tywain McKee of Triumph.

Triumph - N.Novgorod 71-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Triumph Lyubertsy's (2-2) home victory over 9th ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (1-4) in Lubertsy 71-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-59. 24 personal fouls committed by BC Nizhny Novgorod helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. International Sergey Karasev (202-93) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international Semen Antonov (202-89) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Vadim Panin (203-84, agency: Alti Sport) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BC Nizhny Novgorod. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Triumph Lyubertsy moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Spartak-Prim. BC Nizhny Novgorod lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Triumph Lyubertsy is looking forward to face league's second-placed Lokomotiv in Kuban in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
