We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (5-6) in their last game. Despite Shved's very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 98-106 on the road to the Golden State Warriors. He was the second best scorer with 22 points. Shved also added 7 passes in 33 minutes on the court. It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Shved's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season: 9.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.9apg, 2FGP: 48.0%, 3FGP: 24.4% and FT: 83.3% in the 11 games he played so far. Shved is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

Second place goes to an international forward Andrei Kirilenko (209-81, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Alexey Shved and both played together in the last NBA game. Kirilenko, who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Minnesota Timberwolves (5-6) in their last game on Friday. Despite Kirilenko's very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were defeated 106-98 in Oakland by the Golden State Warriors. He scored 18 points, had 6 rebounds and made 4 blocks. It's Kirilenko's first season with the team. Kirilenko has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.1ppg, 8.1rpg, 3.3apg, 1.9bpg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 56.0%(42-75) and FT: 68.8%. Kirilenko is a naturalized American. He is in the roster of the Russian senior national team. Kirilenko used to play for CSKA Moscow in Russian league.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was University international center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in Baltic League). Nelyubov led his Estonian team TU/Rock to a victory over the sixth-ranked Valga (1-6) crushing them 98-66 in the Baltic League in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Nelyubov recorded 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Tartu Ulikool/Rock (7-1) is placed first in group B. There are only two games left until the end of the Baltic League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Nelyubov has relatively solid stats: 10.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 2FGP: 58.6%(34-58) and FT: 76.5%. He played for the Russian university national team one years ago.

Center Timofey Mozgov (215-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Denver Nuggets (7-6) in their game against the San Antonio Spurs (10-3) in the NBA. He recorded only 4 points. The Denver Nuggets were crushed 126-100 in San Antonio by the Spurs. Mozgov's overall stats this season are: 2.0ppg and 2.0rpg. He is also Russian national team player.

Fomin's overall stats this season are: 6.3ppg and 2.7rpg. He is university international player as he played for the Russian team one years ago.

Dikiy scored only 3 points. Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye (11-4) is placed third in the Superleague. Dikiy's total stats this season are: 1.5ppg and 1.1rpg. He used to play for the Russian U18 national team back in 2006.

Korolev cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 14 minutes. Lagun Aro GBC lost 61-76 in Valladolid to the higher-ranked (#11) Blancos de Rueda. This year Korolev's total stats are: 4.0ppg and 3.1rpg in the eight games. He used to play for the Russian national team six years ago.

Forward Maxim Zakharov (198-89, college: E.Utah JC, currently plays in Belgium) couldn't help VOO Verviers-Pepinster (1-6) in their game against Belfius Mons-Hainaut (4-3) in the Belgian Ethias League. Zakharov recorded 7 points. The bottom-ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster was crushed 91-63 in Quaregnon by the higher-ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#4). Zakharov has reliable stats this season: 11.5ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.5apg. He is a former U20 international player as three years ago he still played for the Russian national team.

   #11. Former U20 international center Ruslan Pateev (213-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Florida A&M University crushing them 97-70 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. Pateev recorded only 4 points in 8 minutes on the court. Pateev has averaged so far 5.7ppg and 2.2rpg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Russian U20 national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece) led PAOK to a victory over the 12th-ranked Aris (2-5) 72-63 in a derby game in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Papadopoulos recorded 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 35 minutes. PAOK Thessaloniki (5-2) is placed third in the A1. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Papadopoulos has relatively solid stats: 13.1ppg, 5.9rpg, 3.7apg and 1.1bpg in the seven games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Greek.

   #2. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Belarus could not help the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk (0-6) in their last game. Despite Pustahvar's very good performance the tenth-placed Tsmoki-Minsk was crushed 90-48 at home by the leading CSKA Moscow in the group B of VTB United League. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Pustahvar also added 8 rebounds in 25 minutes. So far Tsmoki-Minsk lost all six games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Pustahvar's overall stats are: 8.2ppg and 4.0rpg in the six games. He is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Belarusian.

   #3. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Ukraine) was the main contributor in Mykolaiv's victory against the closely-ranked DniproAzot (4-10) 85-66 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Friday night. Adediran was the best player in that game. He scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. MBC Mykolaiv (5-9) is placed tenth in the Superleague. Adediran's overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg and 2.7rpg. He has both Nigerian and Russian nationalities.

   #4. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against the tenth-ranked Planasa NV (3-5) 81-77 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Flis recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 21 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Flis is currently second on the league's list of best blockers with 1.4bpg. He also averaged so far 12.0ppg and 4.3rpg in the eight games. Flis also holds two passports: Russian and Spanish.

   #5. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus), who plays in the Belarusian Premier League was not able to help Rubon (4-3) in their last game. Despite Indrikov's good performance Rubon was crushed 100-73 on their home court in Vitebsk by the lower-ranked (#6) Sozh Gomel. He was the top scorer with 12 points in a mere 19 minutes. This year Indrikov's overall stats are: 5.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.4apg in the seven games.

   #6. Anton Kazarnovski (205-F/C-85, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli National League (second division) was not able to secure a victory for Hapoel Kazrin (3-3) in their last game. Despite Kazarnovski's good performance Hapoel Kazrin was edged 83-81 on the road by the second-ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 15 rebounds. Kazarnovski also added 3 assists in 33 minutes. Kazarnovski has reliable stats this year: 12.7ppg, 8.8rpg and 2.5apg in the six games. He holds both Russian and Israeli passports. Despite Kazarnovski's Russian nationality, he previously played for the Israeli university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #7. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague couldn't help Batumi (1-5) in their last game. Despite Kvelashvili's good performance Batumi lost 70-75 on their home court in Batumi to the second-ranked Kutaisi. He scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Kvelashvili's total stats are: 8.2ppg and 6.2rpg in the six games. He has Russian and Georgian nationalities.

   #8. Igor Simin (197-G-84, currently plays in Israel) helped Beer Yaakov win their game against the fifth-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan 84-72 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Simin scored 13 points and added 4 passes. Simin's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg. He has dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli. Despite Simin's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

   #9. Nikita Khartchenkov (200-F-87, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help USC Leipzig in their game against Cuxhaven BasCats in the German ProA (second division). Khartchenkov recorded 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. His team lost 66-77. Khartchenkov's stats this year are: 14.9ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.3apg in the eight games. He has dual citizenship: Russian and German. Despite Khartchenkov's Russian passport, he previously played for the German U20 national team.

   #10. Albert Kuppe (195-F-88, currently plays in Germany) helped Oettinger Rockets Gotha win their game against the 11th-ranked ETB Wohnbau 90-79 in the German ProA (second division) last Saturday. Kuppe recorded 6 points. Kuppe has averaged so far 5.7ppg and 2.2rpg. He holds both Russian and German passports. Despite Kuppe's Russian nationality, he previously played for the German U18 national team.

Unics Kazan (VTB) is about to re-sign 28-year old Spaniard point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88kg-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances). In 37 VTB games he recorded 14.2ppg, 4.6rpg and 6.4apg this season. The most of last season Colom spent at Dominion Bilbao Basket (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league. Avtodor Saratov (VTB) have hired 36-year old Latvian coach Nikolajs Mazurs who currently worked at B.C. Vita Tbilisi in Georgia. The last season he coached at VEF Riga (LBL) in Latvian league. He helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Mazurs was selected to Latvian League All-Star Game back in 2011.
