Universitet-Yugra (7-2) survived in overtime against Novosybirsk (6-3) by nine points 88-79 on Friday night. The game took place in Novosybirsk. But the guests from Surgut were better at the end. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Linas Lekavicius fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ural Ekaterinb. Newly promoted Novosybirsk dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Universitet-Yugra will face Planeta-Univ. (#10) in Ukhta in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Novosybirsk will play on the road against Volgograd (#14).

In the last two games of round 10 Ruskon-Mord. was defeated by Ural Ekaterinb. in Ekaterinburg 82-70. Winless Spartak V. was smashed by TEMP-SUMZ at home 52-71. Volgograd lost to Avtodor on the opponent's court 80-85. Severstal unfortunately lost to Ataman in a home game 59-74. Sojuz Zaretchny recorded a loss to Planeta-Univ. on the road 85-99. AltajBasket was crushed by Rjazan on its own court 65-87.

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (6-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (7-2) 82-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 43-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ural Ekaterinburg made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Ruskon-Mordovia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Chris Monroe (191-81, college: G.Washington) chipped in 18 points. Ural Ekaterinburg's coach Oleg Okulov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Novosybirsk - Univ.Surgut 79-88 OT

Universitet-Yugra (7-2) survived in overtime against Novosybirsk (6-3) by nine points 88-79 on Friday night. The game took place in Novosybirsk. But the guests from Surgut were better at the end. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 19-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 9-point victory in overtime. Universitet-Yugra dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Novosybirsk's 28. Universitet-Yugra forced 21 Novosybirsk turnovers and had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Novosybirsk was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Forward Aleksandr Savenkov (205-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Universitet-Yugra players scored in double figures. Naturalized Kazakhstan Stanislav Makshantsev (205-78, college: Furman) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and guard Aleksandr Anisimov (186-86, agency: Alti Sport) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ural Ekaterinb. Newly promoted Novosybirsk dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Universitet-Yugra will face Planeta-Univ. (#10) in Ukhta in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Novosybirsk will play on the road against Volgograd (#14).
