   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in NBA). He led Minnesota Timberwolves to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (11-8) 105-88 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Shved was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points and added 4 assists in 29 minutes on the court. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 9-9 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Shved has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.5apg, 2FGP: 48.0%, 3FGP: 32.5% and FT: 79.2% in the 18 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Andrei Kirilenko (209-81, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Alexey Shved. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Kirilenko contributed to an easy victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (4-16) 91-73. He scored 8 points, grabbed 7 boards, handed out 6 passes and blocked 3 shots. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 9-9 record this season. It's Kirilenko's first year with the team. Kirilenko has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.6ppg, 7.7rpg, 3.6apg, 1.9bpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 56.1%(55-98), 3FGP: 36.0% and FT: 71.4%. Kirilenko is a naturalized American. He is in the roster of the Russian senior national team. Kirilenko used to play for CSKA Moscow in Russian league.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Timofey Mozgov (215-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Denver Nuggets (10-10) to beat the Atlanta Hawks (11-5). Mozgov scored 6 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. The Denver Nuggets were defeated 108-104 on the road by the Hawks. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Mozgov's overall stats this season are: 3.5ppg, 4.5rpg. He is also a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #4. Center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in Estonia) contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Valga (5-7) crushing them 90-31 in the Estonian KML in Friday night's game. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 15 minutes. Tartu Ulikool/Rock (11-0) is placed first in the KML. So far his team won all eleven games in the Regular Season. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Nelyubov's overall stats are: 7.7ppg and 4.0rpg in the six games. He used to play for the Russian university national team last year.

Former U18 international forward Stanislav Dikiy (201-88, agency: New Trend Agency, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to Ferro-ZNTU's victory against one of league's weakest teams BC Kyiv (4-13) 83-72 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Sunday night's game. He recorded 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye (14-4) is placed first in the Superleague. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Dikiy's total stats this season are: 2.1ppg and 1.2rpg. He used to play for the Russian U18 national team six years ago.

Forward Nikita Barinov (203-91, currently plays in Lithuania) managed to help Neptunas Klaipeda to win against one of league's weakest teams Sakalai (1-6) crushing them 106-80 in the Lithuanian LKL on Wednesday night. Barinov scored only 2 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Neptunas Klaipeda (5-3) is placed second in the LKL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Barinov's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 7.5ppg and 3.0rpg. Barinov is U20 international player as he played for the Russian team one years ago.

Former U18 international forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to JMU's surprising victory against the Winthrop University 71-61 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He scored 17 points in a mere 19 minutes. The James Madison University has conference record this season. Semenov is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in JMU's roster. This season Semenov's total stats are: 7.5ppg and 3.0rpg in the six games. He used to play for the Russian U18 national team four years ago.

   #8. Forward Aleksandr Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to help the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk (0-7) in their game against VEF Riga (5-2) in the VTB United League. Fomin recorded 5 points. The tenth-placed Tsmoki-Minsk was crushed 98-73 in Riga by the higher-ranked VEF Riga (#4) in the group B of VTB United League. So far Tsmoki-Minsk lost all seven games in the Regular Season. Fomin has averaged so far 6.1ppg and 1.6rpg. He used to play for the Russian university national team last year.

Former U20 international center Ruslan Pateev (213-90, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Sacramento State University crushing them 90-70 in the NCAA last Saturday. Pateev scored only 2 points. The Arizona State University has conference record this season. Pateev has been at the team for four years. He has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 6.9rpg. Pateev used to play for the Russian U20 national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece) led PAOK to an overtime victory against the closely-ranked AGOR (5-3) 91-85 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. He scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 31 minutes. PAOK Thessaloniki (7-2) is placed third in the A1. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Papadopoulos' first year with the team. Papadopoulos belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #5 with 3.8apg. This year his other stats are: 13.3ppg and 6.3rpg in the eight games he played so far. Papadopoulos has a dual citizenship: Russian and Greek.

   #2. Raul Lopez (183-PG-80, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 16th-ranked Assignia Manresa (1-9) crushing them 83-63 in the Spanish ACB last Saturday. Lopez recorded 8 points in 22 minutes. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (8-2) is placed second in the ACB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Lopez's overall stats are: 8.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.6apg in the seven games.

   #3. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus) was the major contributor in Rubon's victory against the closely-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (4-6) crushing them 87-63 in the Belarusian Premier League on Friday night. He scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Rubon Vitebsk (7-3) is placed third in the Premier League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Indrikov has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.7spg.

   #4. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Ukraine) led Mykolaiv to a victory against the fifth-ranked Hoverla (11-7) 86-79 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Friday. Adediran scored 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. MBC Mykolaiv (7-10) is placed tenth in the Superleague. It's Adediran's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 8.7ppg and 3.4rpg. Adediran is another player who holds two passports: Nigerian and Russian.

   #5. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 2-point River Andorra's victory against the 12th-ranked Caceres Basket (3-7) 71-69 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He scored 15 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 23 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Flis is currently first on the league's list of best blockers with 1.4bpg. This year his other stats are: 12.3ppg and 4.2rpg in the nine games. Flis has both Russian and Spanish nationalities.

   #6. Alexey Chubrevich (212-C-86, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a Maccabi Haifa's victory against the ninth-ranked Bnei Hasharon 91-86 in the Israeli Winner League last Monday. Chubrevich scored 6 points in only 11 minutes. This year Chubrevich's total stats are: 1.8ppg and 1.8rpg in the six games. He also holds two passports: Russian and Israeli. Despite Chubrevich's Russian nationality, he previously played for the Israeli university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #7. Ruslan Nazmiev (200-G-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague could not help Sokhumi (1-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Nazmiev's very good performance Sokhumi was defeated 81-77 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (#6). He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Nazmiev also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. He has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.4apg and 1.4spg. Nazmiev holds both Uzbekistani and Russian passports.

   #8. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to help the league outsider Tsmoki-Minsk in their game against VEF Riga in the VTB United League. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 20 minutes. His team was crushed by 25 points 98-73. Pustahvar has averaged so far 7.6ppg and 4.3rpg in the seven games. He has Russian and Belarusian nationalities.

   #9. Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-C-86, currently plays in Ukraine) helped Musson win their game against the eighth-ranked VolinBasket 66-57 in the Ukrainian Higher League (second division) last Sunday. Lipovtsev had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks and 3 steals in 40 minutes. Lipovtsev is currently fourth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (sixth place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Lipovtsev averages: 15.3ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.7apg, 2.3bpg and 1.4spg in the 12 games.

   #10. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia) helped Batumi win their game against one of league's weakest teams Samedicino-Academia 82-73 in the Georgian Superleague on Friday night. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Kvelashvili has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 6.9rpg. He has Russian and Georgian nationalities.

BC Nizhny Novgorod (VTB) added to their roster 23-year old forward Dmitrii Uzinskiy (200-90kg-93). He played last season at Sakhalin in the Superleague 1. In 33 games he recorded 5.5ppg and 2.8rpg. Uzinskiy helped them to win the Superleague 1 title. The previous (14-15) season he played at Spartak Primorie Vladivostok (Superleague) where in 38 games he averaged 9.8ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.7spg.
