The game between third ranked Nadezhda Orenburg (5-2) and fourth ranked Dynamo Moscow (5-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Nadezhda Orenburg was crushed by Dynamo Moscow in Moscow 88-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nadezhda Orenburg. The game without a history. Dynamo Moscow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nadezhda Orenburg's 36. They outrebounded Nadezhda Orenburg 60-32 including a 29-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. point guard Kristi Toliver (170-87, college: Maryland) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Dynamo Moscow's coach Vladimir Shtam used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Renee Montgomery (170-86, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) produced 18 points and 6 assists for lost side. Dynamo Moscow moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Nadezhda Orenburg. Dynamo Moscow is looking forward to face bottom-ranked BC Rostov (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nadezhda Orenburg will play against the league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kursk. Leader UMMC Ekaterinburg faced their biggest opponent Dynamo Kursk. Guests from Ekaterinburg (7-0) defeated host Dynamo Kursk (5-2) 77-66. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian-American Diana Taurasi (183-82, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. Candace Parker contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International guard Epiphanny Prince (175-88, college: Rutgers) answered with 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Dynamo Kursk. Undefeated UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Dynamo Kursk at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against Nadezhda Orenburg (#4) at home in the next round. Dynamo Kursk will play against Spartak Vidnoye and hopes to get back on the winning track.
BC Rostov can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Spartak Noginsk (1-6) 73-52 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Olga Vorobyeva who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points. BC Rostov's coach Ainars Zvirgzdins felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Anna Tolikova responded with 16 points. BC Rostov left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Spartak N. It was Spartak Noginsk's fourth loss in a row. BC Rostov will meet higher ranked Dynamo Moscow (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Noginsk will play against Dynamo-GUVD (#7) in Novosibirsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 7 Dynamo-GUVD was defeated by Energy Ivanovo in a road game 58-54. Spartak V MR beat Chevakata at home 79-72.

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Dynamo-GUVD (2-5) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Energy Ivanovo (2-5) 58-54 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Energy Ivanovo made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Dynamo-GUVD turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Olga Ovcharenko (186-79) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. American center Janell Burse (197-79, college: Tulane) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Yvonne Turner (174-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 15 points and 9 steals and international center Natalia Myasoedova (196-87) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Energy Ivanovo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo-GUVD and Chevakata. Dynamo-GUVD lost their third game in a row. Energy Ivanovo will meet Vologda-Chevakata (#8) on the road in the next round. Dynamo-GUVD will play against Spartak Noginsk and hope to secure a win.
