We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Irina Osipova (196-81, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TKBL. Osipova could not help Istanbul Universitesi (4-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite her good performance Istanbul Universitesi was defeated 64-60 on the road by the higher-ranked Tarsus Bld (#5). Osipova was the second best scorer with 14 points. She also added 8 rebounds. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Osipova's first year with the team. Osipova has relatively good stats this season: 10.9ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 56.6%(43-76). She is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international guard Valeriya Musina (183-87, college: Lee, currently plays in Euroleague). Musina was not able to help CCC Polkowice (2-5) in their game against Mondeville (4-3) in the Euroleague, despite her good performance on Wednesday night. She scored 10 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals in 31 minutes. But the fifth-placed CCC Polkowice was edged 65-63 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#3) Mondeville in the group C of Euroleague. This year Musina averages: 7.4ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.7apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 22.4% and FT: 48.0% in the seven games she played so far. She played for the Russian U20 national team in 2007.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was U20 international power forward Ksenia Tikhonenko (193-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in Romania). She contributed to a CSM Targoviste's victory against the sixth-ranked Alexandria (8-6) 83-70 in the Romanian Division A last Saturday. Tikhonenko scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. CSM Targoviste (13-1) is placed second in the Division A. It was her team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Tikhonenko's overall stats this season are: 8.4ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 58.3%(49-84) and FT: 51.4%. She has a dual citizenship: Russian and Kazakhstan. Tikhonenko is also a member of the Russian U20 national team.

   #4. Power forward Jelena Reshetko (184-86, currently plays in Finland) led Catz Lappeenranta to an easy victory against the league outsider HyPo (1-15) crushing them 120-62 in the Finnish SM-sarja in Saturday night's game. Reshetko recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Catz Lappeenranta (14-2) is placed first in the SM-sarja. Reshetko is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her eighth year in Catz Lappeenranta's roster. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Reshetko averages: 15.7ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.9apg and 1.9spg. She used to play for the Russian U21 national team back in 2007.

   #5. Former U20 international forward Anastasiya Kolotilschikova (182-90, currently plays in Ukraine) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider one of league's weakest teams Dynamo (5-3) in their game against Tim-Scuf (6-3) in the Ukrainian Higher League (12th division). Kolotilschikova scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. Dynamo was badly defeated 88-70 in a derby game by the second-ranked Tim-Scuf. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Kolotilschikova's overall stats are: 8.3ppg and 3.5rpg in the four games. She used to play for the Russian U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Guard Yana Panevina (168-91, currently plays in Belarus) was the major contributor in Tsmoki-Minsk's victory against the league outsider BrGU COR Victoria (0-7) crushing them 90-46 in the Belarusian Premier League on Saturday night. Panevina scored 18 points. BK Tsmoki-Minsk (6-1) is placed second in the Premier League. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Panevina's total stats this season are: 9.9ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.7spg. She is U20 international player as she played for the Russian team one years ago.

   #7. Former U19 international forward Kristina Alikina (187-86, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help Gorizont (2-2) in their game against Union Hainaut (5-1) in the Eurocup, despite her good performance on Thursday night. She had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. But Gorizont (#2) lost 52-62 in Saint-Amand to the leading Union Hainaut in the group E of Eurocup. It's Alikina's first season with the team. Alikina has very impressive stats this year: 15.2ppg, 9.7rpg, 1.3apg, 1.2bpg and 1.3spg in the six games. She used to play for the Russian U19 national team seven years ago.

   #8. Forward Regina Galayda (185-89, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Maccabi Ramat Hen in a victory against the closely-ranked Elitzur Netanya (1-3) 81-74 in the Israeli D1 in Monday night's game. Galayda scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. Maccabi Ramat Hen (3-2) is placed sixth in the D1. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Galayda averages just 1.8ppg in the five games. She used to play for the Russian U20 national team back in 2009.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Irina Mihailova (191-F-81, currently plays in Hungary), who plays in the Hungarian A Division could not help ZTE NKK (8-6) in their last game. Despite her very good performance ZTE NKK was edged 73-72 on the road by the league outsider (#10) MBK Eurl.Vasas. Mihailova was the second best scorer with 17 points. She also added 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Mihailova's first season with the team. Mihailova has relatively good stats this year: 10.7ppg and 4.2rpg in the 13 games she played so far. She has a dual citizenship: Moldovan and Russian.

   #2. Experienced Elena Vishnyakova (191-F-78, college: G.Washington, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LF2 (12th division) was not able to help Laveyron (7-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Vishnyakova's very good performance Laveyron was defeated 60-50 at home by the second-ranked Nice. She was the top scorer with 18 points. Vishnyakova also added 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Vishnyakova belongs to league's best rebounders (ranked #2) and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). She has very reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.8spg. Vishnyakova is another player who holds two passports: Russian and French.

   #3. Zarema Gahayeva (185-PF-96, currently plays in Belgium) led Sint Kateline Waver to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Basket Groot (6-6) crushing them 91-63 in the Belgian Division I last Sunday. She scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 3 blocks (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in only a mere 8 minutes. Sint Katelijne Waver (7-5) is placed fourth in the Division I. This year Gahayeva's overall stats are: 5.4ppg and 4.8rpg in the nine games.

   #4. Olga Fedorova (189-C-78, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LF2 (12th division) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Arxil Pontevedra (0-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite her very good performance Arxil Pontevedra (#11) was badly defeated 62-46 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Oviedo (#5) in the Group A. Fedorova recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 16 rebounds. She also added and 3 steals. Fedorova is currently third on the league's list of best rebounders. She has very reliable stats this season: 14.0ppg, 9.9rpg and 1.8spg.

   #5. Anna Sokolan (178-G-84, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to Neftochimic's victory against the fifth-ranked Montana 2003 (4-6) 73-64 in the Bulgarian NBL in Sunday night's game. Sokolan scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 37 minutes. Neftochimic 2010 Burgas (10-0) is placed first in the NBL. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. Sokolan is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her seventh year in Neftochimic's roster. This season she has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg in the 10 games. Sokolan has both Ukrainian and Russian nationalities.

   #6. Ekaterina Abramzon (185-F-87, currently plays in Romania) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Targu Mures crushing them 72-47 in the Romanian Division A on Saturday night. She scored 8 points and blocked 2 blocks in 26 minutes. This year Abramzon's overall stats are: 6.4ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg in the 14 games. She also holds two passports: Russian and Israeli.

   #7. Elena Komissarenko (175-SG-86, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Elitzur Ramla in a victory against the league outsider Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion crushing them 79-53 in the Israeli D1 in Monday night's game. Komissarenko scored only 2 points in 14 minutes. This year Komissarenko averages just 0.5ppg in the four games.

   #8. Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-C-81, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to a Olimpia GrGAU's victory against the closely-ranked Nantes Reze 67-62 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. She scored 8 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Alyoshkina is ranked fifth on the list of the best rebounders in the league and also on the list of best blockers (third place). She has very reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.4apg and 2.6bpg. Alyoshkina holds both Russian and Ukrainian passports.

   #9. Ludmila Tymkova (190-C, currently plays in Ukraine) couldn't help the league outsider BK Frankivsk-Halichina in their game against Elizabeth-Basket in the Ukrainian Higher League (12th division). Tymkova scored 5 points. Her team was defeated 89-82. Tymkova is currently fourth on the list of best blockers. She has very reliable stats this season: 10.9ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.1bpg.

   #10. Tatiana Shapochkina (179-G-85, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Lyubov Alyoshkina and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Shapochkina led her Belarusian team Olimpia GrGAU to a victory against the closely-ranked Nantes Reze 67-62. She scored 11 points in 30 minutes. This year Shapochkina has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.9spg in the eight games. She holds both Ukrainian and Russian passports.

Nadezhda - Spartak MR 67:62 Nadezhda will play in the title game at the UMMC Cup pre-season tournament. They beat Spartak Moscow Region in the semifinal clash on Friday. Tatiana Petrushina (185-F-90) provided 15 points to lead the Orenburg side. Nadezhda accounted for a 22:17 lead at the first break. Spartak denied the deficit in the second quarter. UMMC - Uni Gyor 92:47 UMMC advanced into UMMC Cup Final. They cruised past Uni Gyor in the first day of the tournament. Anna Petrakova (189-PF-84) posted 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winning side. UMMC grabbed a 26:9 lead after the opening frame. They extended the lead at 24-point mark at the interval 47:23. Vologda-Chevakata (PBL) signed 29-year old Serbian international point guard Tamara Radocaj (170-87, agency: Interperformances). She has played for the last two seasons at UNI Gyor in Hungarian A Division. In 26 games she had 13.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.9apg and 1.3spg last season. Radocaj helped them to make it to the final and Cup semifinals. A very impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team.
