Makshantsev
Naturalized Kazakhstan power forward Stanislav Makshantsev (205-PF-78) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Novosybirsk, receiving a Eurobasket.com Superleague Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat AltajBasket (#6, 7-5) 87-75. Novosybirsk is placed at 4th position in Kazakhstan Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Novosybirsk will need more victories to improve their 8-4 record. In the team's last game Makshantsev had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Novosybirsk and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Furman University star has very solid stats this year. Makshantsev is league's best scorer averaging so far 17.7ppg. Makshantsev is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 8.0rpg) and averages impressive 48.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Aleksei Vzdykhalkin (190-G-85, agency: Interperformances) of Rjazan. Vzdykhalkin had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he lead Rjazan to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Ataman (#3, 9-4) 96-75. This victory allowed Rjazan to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Vzdykhalkin is well-known at Rjazan and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Aleksei Karpeko (194-F-89) of Dynamo MO (#10). Karpeko scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Dynamo MO, leading his team to a 79-68 win against Planeta-Univ. (5-7). The chances of Dynamo MO ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Karpeko could help Dynamo MO to bring them higher in the standings. Karpeko has a very solid season. In 12 games in Russia he scored 8.8ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and FGP: 64.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sergey Toropov (206-F/C-89) of Avtodor - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Pavel Podkolzin (226-C-85) of Novosybirsk - 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Anton Glazunov (182-G-86) of Ural Ekaterinb. - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Alimdzhan Fedyushin (209-C/F-89) of Ural Ekaterinb. - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Maksim Dybovskiy (195-F-87) of Ural Ekaterinb. - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Andrey Mateyunas (180-PG-88) of Avtodor - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Andrey Voron (208-C-87) of Volgograd - 13 points and 13 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
