PBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 10 rounds left. Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

Leader UMMC Ekaterinburg delivered the ninth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked BC Rostov (1-9) 78-57. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-57. UMMC Ekaterinburg shot 20 for 30 from the free-throw line, while BC Rostov only scored three points from the stripe. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 25 BC Rostov turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by BC Rostov helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Candace Parker (193-86, college: Tennessee) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Turkish-American center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Olaf Lange felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Tatiana Grigoryeva (179-90) produced 14 points for lost side. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. BC Rostov lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted BC Rostov stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg are looking forward to face Energy Ivanovo (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Rostov will play against Dynamo-GUVD in Novosibirsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Marina Kuzina contributed with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Belarusian forward Nataliya Trofimowa (186-79) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds for Energy Ivanovo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartak Vidnoye moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nadezhda O. Energy Ivanovo lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Dynamo-GUVD. Spartak Vidnoye will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Energy Ivanovo will play at home against the league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 10 Chevakata was crushed by Dynamo M. in Moscow 81-55. Nadezhda O. beat Dynamo-GUVD at home 83-69.



Dynamo M. - Chevakata 81-55

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Vologda-Chevakata (4-6) was crushed on the road by third ranked Dynamo Moscow (8-2) 81-55. The game without a history. Dynamo Moscow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vologda-Chevakata's 30. Dynamo Moscow forced 20 Vologda-Chevakata turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including 32 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Tatiana Vidmer (191-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Laura Harper (195-86, college: Maryland) contributed with 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. Dynamo Moscow's coach Vladimir Shtam felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Glory Johnson (190-90, college: Tennessee) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vologda-Chevakata. Dynamo Moscow have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Vologda-Chevakata at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Dynamo Moscow will play against Dynamo Kursk (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vologda-Chevakata will play against Nadezhda Orenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Nadezhda Orenburg (7-3) defeated at home 8th ranked Dynamo-GUVD (2-8) 83-69. Dynamo-GUVD was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 26-10 charge of Nadezhda Orenburg, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 25 Dynamo-GUVD turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian center Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-83, college: W.Illinois, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Iva Perovanovic (188-83) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Liubov Paskalenko (205-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Maria Khrustaleva (167-87) added 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Dynamo-GUVD. Dynamo Kursk (PBL) signed 30-year old American small forward Angel McCoughtry (187-73kg-86, college: Louisville). The last season McCoughtry played at Mersin (KBSL) in Turkish league.
