Superlaegue is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 15 rounds left. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Surgut. First ranked Universitet-Yugra faced second-best Ural Ekaterinburg. Host Universitet-Yugra (12-2) defeated guests from Ekaterinburg (11-3) 69-60. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Ural Ekaterinburg. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-60. The best player for the winners was guard Aleksandr Miloserdov (194-80) who scored 20 points. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Universitet-Yugra's coach Sergei Olhov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anton Glazunov (182-86) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Universitet-Yugra have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-2 record. Ural Ekaterinburg at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Universitet-Yugra are looking forward to face Volgograd (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ural Ekaterinburg will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Spartak Vidnoye managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses. This time newly promoted Spartak Vidnoye won against fifth-ranked AltajBasket in Barnau 68-61. It was a good game for forward Vladislav Trushkin (201-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Gleb Goldyrev contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Sergey Chernov (187-86) answered with 14 points and 8 assists for AltajBasket. Newly promoted Spartak Vidnoye maintains fifteenth place with 2-12 record. AltajBasket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Rjazan and Ruskon-Mord.. Spartak Vidnoye will play against higher ranked Severstal (#13) in Cherepovec in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AltajBasket will play on the road against TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Moscow between Dynamo Moscow and TEMP-SUMZ Revda. Ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow (7-7) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (7-7). Dynamo Moscow managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 in the game for the eighth place. It was a great evening for Evgeny Karpeko who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Aleksey Komarov with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dynamo Moscow. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ. Dynamo Moscow will meet Sojuz Zaretchny (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play against AltajBasket (#7) in Barnau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Volgograd. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 12th ranked Volgograd (4-10) to fourteenth ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (3-11) 44-41 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Denis Novikov who led the winners and scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Sojuz Zaretchny's coach Sergey Mostovschikov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Sojuz Zaretchny moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Severstal. Volgograd at the other side keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Sojuz Zaretchny's next round opponent will be higher ranked Dynamo Moscow (#8) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

The best player for the winners was Aleksandr Zaykin who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Planeta-Univ.'s coach Alexander Gutorov felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Planeta-Univ. maintains eleventh place with 6-8 record. Severstal lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Planeta-Univ. will face higher ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (#5) in Saransk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Severstal will play on the road against Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 15 Ruskon-Mord. was defeated by Novosybirsk in a road game 74-65.


Severstal - Planeta-Univ. 42-70

The game with biggest result difference took place in Cherepovec. Local Severstal (3-11) was outscored by eleventh ranked Planeta-Univ. (6-8) 70-42 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Planeta-Univ. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Severstal to just 7 points in second quarter. Planeta-Univ. forced 19 Severstal turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including 35 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (208-84) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Power forward Anton Dudukin (209-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Planeta-Univ.'s coach Alexander Gutorov felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Artem Pisarchuk (205-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Pavel Zhukanenko (194-86) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Planeta-Univ. maintains eleventh place with 6-8 record. Severstal lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Planeta-Univ. will face higher ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (#5) in Saransk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Severstal will play on the road against Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

A very close game took place in Moscow between Dynamo Moscow and TEMP-SUMZ Revda. Ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow (7-7) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (7-7). Dynamo Moscow managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 in the game for the eighth place. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Dynamo Moscow made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for forward Evgeny Karpeko (204-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Aleksei Karpeko (194-89) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. There was no surprise when 6th ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (8-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Novosybirsk (10-4) 74-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 9 points. Ruskon-Mordovia was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized Kazakhstan Stanislav Makshantsev (205-78, college: Furman) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Aleksandr Anisimov (186-86, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 14 points. Four Novosybirsk players scored in double figures. Novosybirsk's coach Sergei Kazarzhevsky used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Roman Semerninov (200-81) who recorded 7 points and 11 rebounds and guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (192-90) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Novosybirsk. They moved-up to third place. Loser Ruskon-Mordovia dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Novosybirsk will face Ataman (#4) in Rostov in the next round. Ruskon-Mordovia will play at home against Planeta-Univ. in Ukhta.
