Ataman Rostov (Superleague) signed 25-year old domestic small forward Vladislav Solovyev (193-85kg-88). He just played at Enisey (PBL). The last season Solovyev played for Enisey Krasnoyarsk (PBL). The previous (10-11) season he played also at Enisey Krasnoyarsk. In 19 PBL games that year he had only 2.5ppg and 1.0rpg. Solovyev helped his team to make it to the Cup Semifinals2011. He has played previously for another Russian team Novosybirsk.

#1. This week's number one is an international forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Baltic League). He led his Lithuanian team P.Zvaigzdes to an overtime victory against the leader Tartu Ulikool 82-75 in the Baltic League in Thursday night's game.
Balashov scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes on the court.
It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group B. Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys (11-1) is placed first.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
It's Balashov's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.3apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 64.6%(53-82) and FT: 62.5% in 12 games he played so far.
Balashov is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

Dmitriev scored 10 points.
Anwil Wloclawek (19-7) is placed second in the PLK.

#3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international center Anatoly Kashirov (215-87, currently plays in Lithuania). Kashirov could not help Dzukija (7-20) to beat Vytautas (15-13).
He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes.
Dzukija was crushed 91-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#6) Vytautas.
This year Kashirov has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 2FGP: 46.3% and FT: 63.6% in 25 games.
Former Spartak St.Petersburg starter played for the Russian university national team six years ago.
#4. Guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia) managed to help Kutaisi Kutaisi to win against the fifth-ranked Sokhumi (9-14) 81-65 in the Georgian Superleague last Saturday.

#7.Egor Koulechov (196-G/F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Rice (11-7) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Rice lost 79-85 in Orem to the Utah Valley University.

#8.Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in Hungary) couldn't help Falco KC in their game against MAFC in the Hungarian A Division.
He scored 5 points and blocked 2 shots.
His team was defeated 75-67.
This season Pustahvar has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.3apg.

#9.Igor Simin (199-SF-84, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a 3-point Hasharon's victory against the closely-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona 94-91 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday.

The 32-year old playmaker had the game-high 21 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Sakhalin in his team's victory, helping them to beat Samara-SGEU (15-8) 92-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sakhalin maintains the 4th position in Russian Superleague 1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sakhalin will need more victories to improve their 15-8 record. In the team's last game Golyahov had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Sakhalin and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Golyahov has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (5th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 52.6% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (192-G-90) of Spartak-Prim.. Klyuchnikov impressed basketball fans with 32 points and 5 assists. Of course he led Spartak-Prim. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Ryazan (#11, 5-18) 90-63. Spartak-Prim.'s 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Klyuchnikov is a newcomer at Spartak-Prim. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#1). He also recorded 3.7 assists per game.
The third best performed player last round was another Spartak-Prim.'s star - American Justin Martin (198-F-90, agency: Interperformances). Martin scored 17 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Spartak-Prim., helping his team with a 90-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Ryazan (#11, 5-18). Spartak-Prim. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 9 lost games. Martin has a very solid season. In 9 games in Russia he scored 13.0ppg.
