Spartak St.Petersburg (PBL) added to their roster 26-year old forward Andrei Koscheev (203-87). He just played at BC Rjazan (Superleague). In 13 games this season he had 4.5ppg and 2.9rpg. Koscheev has played previously for three other Russia teams: LenVO St.Petersburg, BC Khimky Moscow Region U23 and Lobnya Moscow Region.

Khimky overcame CSKA to open the semifinal series with victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CSKA Moscow won third quarter 28-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimky made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. CSKA Moscow's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Zalgiris open Semifinals on a high note and does not leave any chances for visiting Lokomotiv. In Game 1 the Lithuanian Champions posted an 80:53 victory.

Mantas Kalnietis (195-PG-86, agency: Interperformances) produced 12 points and American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-PG-89, college: Florida) added 6 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow, May 25th.
BC Nizhny Novgorod has extended the contract of their Serbian head coach - Zoran Lukic for two more years.

Lukic,who is in BC Nizhny Novgorod from the 2008/09 season was delighted to continue with the club:"To be honest, I had some options for future employment . But I gave too much for the establishment of "BC Nizhny Novgorod" in Russian basketball and continue to see the huge potential there is in our team.In such a situation, to me personally, it is interesting to continue this work at the club. In finishing the season with the guys we have made a good step forward and should continue to progress in our results. Now we have coming off-season, but we have to work hard to improve the team for next season".
