Budivelnyk marched to the second straight win in the EuroCup Last 16 stage. The Kying team snatched a tough road win over Triumph tonight to improve at 2-0 record on top of Group I. Leo Lyons (206-F-87, agency: Edge Sports, college: Missouri) scored 26 points including a game-winning jumper with just over a minute remaining in regulation to carry the visitors to the victory.
Budivelnyk started the game strongly. They erupted for 26 points in the opening quarter to ensure a 3-point lead. The visitors stayed red-hot offensively in the second term. The Ukrainian team fired 27 points to establish a 53:47 halftime lead. Triumph however turned things around in the third term. The Russian side adjusted defensively to limit Budivelnyk to just 12 points in the third term. It paid off as the hosts surged ahead for a 74:65 advantage with ten minutes remaining. Budivelnyk refused to give up and eventually Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89, college: Virginia Tech) put the visitors in front 81:80 with under three minutes remaining. Kyle Landry dunked the ball for a narrow Triumph lead but Leo Lyons answered straight back to keep the visitors in charge. Tywain McKee (188-PG-86, college: Coppin St.) converted a layup for another lead change however Leo Lyons stepped up again for the Kyiv outfit and sealed the victory Budivelnyk. Sergiy Gorbenko (202-F-85) notched 14 points, while Malcolm Delaney finished with 16 points for the winners. Tywain McKee answered with 21 points and 7 assists for Triumph. Sergey Karasev (202-SG-93) had 17 points in the losing case.

Ryan Toolson signs contract extension with Zenit - May 30, 2016

Ryan Toolson(193-G-85, college: Utah Valley) and Zenit agreed on terms of contract extension. The guard has penned a new two-year deal with the Saint Petersburg team. Last season Ryan Toolson notched 18.5 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in EuroCup. In VTB League his stats read 17.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per appearance. Unics Kazan (VTB) is about to re-sign 28-year old Spaniard point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88kg-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances). In 37 VTB games he recorded 14.2ppg, 4.6rpg and 6.4apg this season. The most of last season Colom spent at Dominion Bilbao Basket (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league.
