The Ukrainian side dropped at 0-2 record. Krasnie Krilya started the game with 23-20 and led 5 points at the halftime after 19-17 rally in the second frame. The third period became decisive in the game the Russian team managed to produce a 24-17 surge to improve to 12 points. Khimik managed to win the last stanza 15-11 but could reduce to only 8 final points. Chester Simmons (196-G-82, college: Washington) stepped up with 16 points and Aaron Miles (186-G-83, college: Kansas) notched 15. Omar Thomas (196-F-82, college: UTEP) delivered 12, while Nikita Balashov (207-F-91) scored 11. Sava Lesic (205-C/F-88), Vitaliy Kovalenko (203-F-84) and Willie Deane (188-PG-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Purdue) posted 13 points each in the losing effort. Devoe Joseph (193-G-90, agency: Interperformances, college: Oregon) followed them with 10 and Vernon Goodridge (206-F-84, college: La Salle) delivered 9.

Unics Kazan brings back Dmitry Sokolov (214-C-85) for the next season. The Russian player just quit CSKA.
He managed to play in three leagues this year. In 11 PBL games he had 4.8ppg and 1.5rpg. He helped them to win the league title. Sokolov also played 6 games in Euroleague where he recorded just 1.2ppg and 1.0rpg. He also played 16 games in VTB United League where he recorded 3.1ppg and 1.9rpg. His stats at that event were 7 games: 2.7ppg, 2.6rpg. Sokolov has played previously for four other Russia teams: Lokomotiv Mineralnye Vody, Pulkovo, Unics Kazan U23 and Lokomotiv.
