Guard Epiphanny Prince (5'9''-G-88, college: Rutgers) will be fulfilling a contractual obligation for Russia with a new multi-year contract from the Chicago Sky. It's not as confusing as it sounds. Prince, the Sky's leading scorer last season, got a Russian passport in 2010. She will compete for the Russian National Team in the EuroBasket tournament that begins June 15 in France. The Sky announced Friday it had signed Prince, a fourth-year pro from Rutgers, to the new deal, with no length specified. Prince could miss up to seven of the 34 Sky games while trying to help Russia qualify for the 2014 World Championships - and possibly compromising the Sky's chances to make the WNBA playoffs for the first time in franchise history. "We knew all along this was going to happen," Sky coach and general manager Pokey Chatman said. "It's something you prepare for." Prince has played with two different Russian pro teams, leading Russian Premier League players in scoring this season for Dynamo Kursk. The Dynamo coach, Alfredas Vainauskas, recently became Russia's national team coach. She will leave the Sky after its third game of the season June 2 and could be away through June 30.
