Energy Ivanovo - Spartak N. 65-56

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Energy Ivanovo (3-9) defeated at home 8th ranked Spartak Noginsk (2-8) 65-56. It looked good early as Spartak Noginsk took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Energy Ivanovo took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 9 points. They also forced 22 Spartak Noginsk turnovers. The winners were led by guard Elena Berseneva (172-80) who scored that evening 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Natalya Dorovskikh (186-90) supported her with 10 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds by Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (194-82) did not help to save the game for Spartak Noginsk. Center Anna Tolikova (19-86) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Spartak Noginsk's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energy Ivanovo moved-up to eighth place. Spartak Noginsk at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Energy Ivanovo will play against league's second-placed Dynamo Moscow on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Spartak Noginsk will play against the league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
