The most exciting game of round 13 in the PBL took place in Orenburg. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Spartak Vidnoye (8-4) to fourth ranked Nadezhda Orenburg (9-4) 80-79 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spartak Vidnoye. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 27-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American guard DeWanna Bonner (193-87, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import point guard Renee Montgomery (170-86, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. American Seimone Augustus (183-84, college: LSU) produced 19 points and 4 assists for lost side. Nadezhda Orenburg moved-up to third place. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Dynamo K.. Nadezhda Orenburg are looking forward to face Energy Ivanovo (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Spartak Vidnoye will play against BC Rostov (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Leader UMMC Ekaterinburg delivered the eleventh victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Spartak Noginsk (2-9) 78-52. Worth to mention a great performance of French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (made all of her eight free throws). Sue Bird contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Anna Tolikova (19-86) answered with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Spartak Noginsk. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-1 record. Spartak Noginsk lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against Vologda-Chevakata (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Spartak Noginsk will play against the league's second-placed Dynamo Moscow and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo Kursk moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Spartak V MR. BC Rostov lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted BC Rostov stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Dynamo Kursk will meet Dynamo-GUVD (#7) in the next round. BC Rostov will play against Spartak Vidnoye.

In the last two games of round 13 Energy Ivanovo was defeated by Dynamo M. in Moscow 78-69. Chevakata was beaten by Dynamo-GUVD at home 61-77.

Rostov - Dynamo K. 50-92

The game with biggest result difference took place in Rostov. Local BC Rostov (1-12) was outscored by fifth ranked Dynamo Kursk (8-4) 92-50 on Monday night. The game without a history. Dynamo Kursk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Rostov to just 6 points in third quarter. Dynamo Kursk forced 22 BC Rostov turnovers and outrebounded BC Rostov 39-28 including 25 on the offensive glass. Lithuanian Ausra Bimbaite (179-82) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners and American point guard Temeka Johnson (160-82, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Dynamo M. - Energy Ivanovo 78-69

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Energy Ivanovo (3-10) was defeated on the road by second ranked Dynamo Moscow (10-3) 78-69 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Energy Ivanovo won second period 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Dynamo Moscow won last quarter 18-10. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Energy Ivanovo's 40. Dynamo Moscow forced 20 Energy Ivanovo turnovers. American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and her fellow American import point guard Kristi Toliver (170-87, college: Maryland) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Olga Ovcharenko (186-79) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Olga Zhuzhgova (203-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Energy Ivanovo players scored in double figures. Energy Ivanovo's coach Aleksander Krutikov rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dynamo Moscow maintains second place with 10-3 record behind leader UMMC. Newly promoted Energy Ivanovo keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Dynamo Moscow will meet Spartak Noginsk (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Energy Ivanovo will play against Nadezhda Orenburg and hope to secure a win.

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Dynamo-GUVD (4-8) defeated on the road 6th ranked Vologda-Chevakata (6-7) 77-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Dynamo-GUVD led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vologda-Chevakata's 26 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American guard Yvonne Turner (174-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Regeneracom Sports) stepped up and scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international center Natalia Myasoedova (196-87) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Dynamo-GUVD players scored in double figures.
