Dynamo Kursk (PBL) inked 34-year old American (has also Greek passport) swingman Katie Douglas (185-75kg-79, college: Purdue). She supposed to play at Wisla Can-Pak in Polish PLKK. The last summer Douglas played at Indiana in WNBA. In 38 games she averaged impressive 16.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.1apg and 1.4spg. She also played at Nadezhda Orenburg earlier that season. In 36 PBL games last season she had 13.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.2apg and 1.8spg. She helped them to make it to the cup final and to the league semifinals. A very good season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Russian PBL Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team. The previous (10-11) season Douglas played at Ros Casares (LFB) in Spanish league. In 28 games that year she had 13.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.6spg. She contributed to her team making it to both league and supercup final after they ended regular season as second best team. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com Spanish LFB All-Imports Team and 2nd Team. Douglas also played 16 games in Euroleague where she was fifth best scorer with impressive 17.9ppg and recorded 5.1rpg, 1.4apg and 1.9spg. She contributed to her team making it to the semifinals. Indeed an impressive season as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague 2nd Team. In 2001 Douglas was drafted by Orlando Miracle (WNBA) in first round (10th overall). The former Purdue University standoutis in her twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball. Among other achievements Douglas received Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Import Player of the Year award back in 2008. She is a very experienced player. Douglas has played also professionally in Lithuania (VICI Aistes), Turkey (Galatasaray), WNBA (Connecticut Sun), Russia (CSKA Moscow) and Greece (GAC Eunikos).

The Azzurri stopped the rot in the second term. They narrowed the deficit and trailed by five points at halftime 30:35. Italy went on a 10:0 run early in the third period to surge in front. The teams exchanged the lead for some time before Dotto capped the quarter with a jumper and gave Italy a 47:46 lead. Russia went on a 10:0 rally early in the fourth term to spur ahead. Petrakova and Epiphanny Prince (175-G-88, college: Rutgers) opened an 8-point lead for Russia with under three minutes remaining 65:57. Petrakova then hit a three-pointer to make it an 11-point game. But Dotto and Kathrin Ress (196-C-85, college: Boston Coll.) capped the regulation with four consecutive points and cut the deficit to 6 points. Marina Kuzina (195-C-85, agency: IPSA) connected for 15 points for Russia. Epiphanny Epiphanny Prince added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Giorgia Sottana (178-G-88, agency: Players Group) responded with 21 points for Italy. Kathrin Ress had 11 points in the loss.

In 13 games she had just 2.6ppg and 2.4rpg this season. She helped them to make it to the Russian Cup Semifinals. Kostina also played 5 games in Eurocup where she recorded 3.8ppg and 2.2rpg. The most of last season she spent at Spartak St.Petersburg (Superleague). In 18 games she recorded 8.5ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.3spg. Kostina also played at Spartak-SHVSM (Superleague) earlier that season. She won EuroCup championship title. Kostina represented Russia at the European Championships U18 eight years ago.
