Here is the weekly review of the top performing Russian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (19-31) in their last game. Despite Shved's good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were badly defeated 105-88 on the road by the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored 10 points and added 9 passes in 31 minutes on the court. It's Shved's first season with the team. Shved has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 4.4apg, 2FGP: 44.2%, 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 72.8% in the 45 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former University international center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in Baltic League). He contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Sakalai (0-4) crushing them 81-55 in the Baltic League on Friday night. Nelyubov scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 19 minutes. Tartu Ulikool/Rock (4-1) is placed first in group H. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. The Top 16 already ended in the Baltic League. This year Nelyubov averages: 8.8ppg, 4.6rpg, 2FGP: 59.6%(53-89) and FT: 65.4% in the 14 games. He played for the Russian university national team in 2011.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Timofey Mozgov (215-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in NBA). He was not able to help the Denver Nuggets (33-21) in their game against the Toronto Raptors (21-32) in the NBA. Mozgov scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. The Denver Nuggets were edged 109-108 in Toronto by the Raptors. It was Nuggets' third consecutive loss in a row. This year Mozgov's overall stats are: 3.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 52.9% and FT: 72.7% in the 29 games. He is also a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #4. Guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for Kutaisi (1-0) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Babunashvili's good performance his team was edged 75-72 at home by the lower-ranked Armia (#3). He was the second best scorer with 10 points. Babunashvili also added 3 assists. Babunashvili's total stats this season are: 5.1ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.3apg. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Georgian. Babunashvili used to play for the Russian U18 national team back in 2008.

Former U20 international center Ruslan Pateev (213-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Arizona St. (7-5) in their game against the University of Utah (3-9) in the NCAA. Pateev scored only 4 points in 18 minutes. The Arizona St. lost 55-60 in Salt Lake City, UT to the University of Utah. Pateev is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Arizona St.'s roster. This season his total stats are: 7.7ppg and 2.7rpg in the 10 games. Pateev used to play for the Russian U20 national team three years ago.

   #6. Forward Maxim Zakharov (198-89, college: E.Utah JC, currently plays in Belgium) couldn't help VOO Verviers-Pepinster (3-14) in their game against Spirou Charleroi (10-6) in the Belgian Ethias League. He cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. Zakharov recorded only 2 points in 16 minutes. The bottom-ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster lost 67-79 in Charleroi to the higher-ranked (#3) Spirou. It was VOO Verviers-Pepinster's sixth consecutive loss in a row. Zakharov has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 2.5rpg in the 12 games. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Russian team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece) led PAOK to a victory against the 12th-ranked KAOD (5-11) 77-66 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Papadopoulos recorded 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. PAOK Thessaloniki (11-5) is placed fourth in the A1. Papadopoulos is currently second on the league's list of best rebounders. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.3ppg, 7.3rpg and 3.1apg. Papadopoulos has a dual citizenship: Russian and Greek.

   #2. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a River Andorra's victory against the 11th-ranked Ourense (2-10) crushing them 81-60 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Flis scored 16 points and blocked 2 shots. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Flis is currently second on the league's list of best blockers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.2ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.3bpg and 1.2spg. Flis is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Spanish.

   #3. Anton Kazarnovski (205-F/C-85, currently plays in Israel) led Hapoel Kazrin to a victory over the closely-ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (6-11) 96-85 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night. Kazarnovski was MVP of the game. He scored 26 points (!!!), grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Kazrin/Galil Elion (9-8) is placed eighth in the National League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Kazarnovski has relatively solid stats: 14.9ppg, 8.9rpg and 3.2apg. He has both Russian and Israeli nationalities. Despite Kazarnovski's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #4. Albert Kuppe (195-F-88, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Oettinger Rockets Gotha's victory against one of league's weakest teams Kirchheim Knights (8-13) 107-97 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Kuppe scored 18 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 32 minutes. BiG Oettinger Rockets Gotha (8-13) is placed 13th in the ProA. This year Kuppe's total stats are: 7.2ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.3apg in the 21 games he played so far. He also holds two passports: Russian and German. Despite Kuppe's Russian nationality, he previously played for the German U18 national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

   #5. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Latvia) was the main contributor in Liepaja's surprising victory against the third-ranked Jekabpils (14-9) 95-88 in the Latvian LBL last Saturday. Adediran was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points. It was his first game for Liepaja this season. His team is placed ninth in the LBL. Adediran holds both Nigerian and Russian passports.

   #6. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague could not help Batumi (3-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Batumi was crushed 105-66 at home by the higher-ranked (#4) Olimpi. Kvelashvili was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year Kvelashvili's total stats are: 8.7ppg and 6.2rpg in the 13 games. He has Russian and Georgian nationalities.

   #7. Youri Anissovets (203-F-88, college: Bevill St.-Fayette, currently plays in Canada) helped University of Calgary win their game against the Pronghorn 81-73 in the Canadian university league CIS last Thursday. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. This year Anissovets' total stats are: 4.2ppg and 1.5rpg in the 17 games.

   #8. Nikita Khartchenkov (200-F-87, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) was not able to help NBC (9-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance NBC was defeated 92-80 on their home court in Nurnberg by the lower-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#14). Khartchenkov was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 3 assists. This season Khartchenkov has relatively solid stats: 13.7ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.7apg. He has Russian and German nationalities. Despite Khartchenkov's Russian passport, he previously played for the German U20 national team.

   #9. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus) was not able to secure a victory for Rubon in their game against Sozh Gomel in the Belarusian Premier League, despite his good performance in Friday night's game. Indrikov was the second best scorer with 12 points in 33 minutes. But his team lost 69-77. Indrikov belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #7 with 13.6ppg. He also averaged so far 4.1rpg, 1.7apg and 1.8spg in the 19 games.

   #10. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in EuroChallenge) couldn't help Tsmoki-Minsk in their game against EWE Baskets in the EuroChallenge. Pustahvar cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 72-66. Pustahvar's total stats this season are: 7.7ppg and 2.7rpg. He holds both Russian and Belarusian passports.

Experienced Aleksey Golyahov (190-PG-84, agency: AproK Sports Group) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Sakhalin and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 28.
