CCC Polkowice grabbed a valuable road win over Nadezhda in the EuroLeague playoff series opener. CCC will now look to close out the series at home court. Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-F/C-90, college: Stanford) stepped up with 20 points and 8 rebounds to pace the Polish team to the success. CCC dominated in the first half. They eked out a 24:22 lead at the first break. Belinda Snell (181-SF-81) sparked the second quarter. She drained three treys and led CCC to a 45:32 advantage. The visitors headed into the second half up by 9 points 49:40. Nadezhda thougg were not done just yet. The hosts went on a 15:2 run in the third quarter to level things up. Nadezhda pulled in front 64:62 early in the final frame. CCC Polkowice answered with six unanswered points to surge ahead. Natalia Zhedik (184-SF-88) dragged Nadezhda within one but Skorek and Nnemkadi Ogwumike posted four points in a row to make it 74:69 for CCC. Montgomery just narrowed the gap hovever Sapova missed a three-pointer that could have sent the game into overtime. Belinda Snell and Laia Palau (176-G-79) delivered 16 points apiece for CCC. DeWanna Bonner (193-G-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Auburn) answered with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Nadezhda. Natalia Zhedik chipped in 17 points in the losing effort.

Spartak Vidnoe MR have quickly found the new head coach for the team. Alexandr Vasin will take over the Russian powerhouse after Pokey Chatman had decided to step down from the bridge. Alexandr Vasin worked as assistant coach with Nadezhda Orenburg during the last two seasons. Previously he also worked as assistant coach with Dynamo Moscow and St. Poelten in Austria. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region will have a new head coach next season. Pokey Chatman has decided to leave the team. She worked as head coach of Spartak since 2009. Previously Pokey Chatman spent two seasons as assistant coach with the Vidnoe team. The US specialist led the team to two EuroLeague titles in 2009 and 2010. The Latvian star will enter her third straight season in Ekaterinburg.
