Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

Leader Universitet-Yugra delivered the nineteenth victory on Friday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Ryazan (12-9) 90-86 in Surgut. Universitet-Yugra made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Ryazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Vladimir Dyachok (204-80) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Anton Ageev (192-84) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Artem Isakov (192-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 23 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra (19-2) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Ryazan at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Ruskon-Mord.. Universitet-Yugra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryazan will play at home against Volgograd (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Volgograd. Twelfth ranked Volgograd (6-12) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Ataman (13-8) 66-65 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Fedor Likholitov (210-80, college: VCU, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Vitaly Boyko contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Amiran Amirkhanov (187-86) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds for Ataman. Ataman's coach Boris Livanov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Volgograd moved-up to eleventh place. Ataman at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Volgograd will play against higher ranked Ryazan (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ataman will play against Dynamo Moscow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Moscow, where higher ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (12-9) lost to ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow (11-9) in a road game 62-67 on Friday. Aleksei Karpeko scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Dynamo Moscow's coach Aleksandr Afanasaev used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Nikita Gresev responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Dynamo Moscow have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ and AltajBasket. Loser Ruskon-Mordovia keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ryazan. Dynamo Moscow will meet higher ranked Ataman (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ruskon-Mordovia will play against AltajBasket in Barnau and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Novosybirsk. Local Novosybirsk (15-5) outscored 15th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (3-16) 85-64. Pavel Podkolzin notched 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Novosybirsk's coach Sergei Kazarzhevsky felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Novosybirsk maintains third position with 15-5 record having just -11 point less than leader Univ.Surgut. Spartak Vidnoye lost fourth consecutive game. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Novosybirsk's next round opponent will be TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#7) on the road. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Planeta-Univ. (#12) in Ukhta.

Rest of the games of round 22 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Planeta-Univ. was defeated by Ural Ekaterinb. in Ekaterinburg 66-58. TEMP-SUMZ beat Avtodor at home 94-87. Severstal lost to AltajBasket on the opponent's court 52-70.


Ural Ekaterinb. - Planeta-Univ. 66-58

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Planeta-Univ. (6-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (15-4) 66-58. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 21-17 last quarter charge of Planeta-Univ. cut the lead to 66-58 at the end of the game. American guard Chris Monroe (191-81, college: G.Washington) notched 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Dmitri Nikolaev (200-83) supported him with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (208-84) did not help to save the game for Planeta-Univ.. Power forward Anton Dudukin (209-86) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Planeta-Univ.'s coach Alexander Gutorov tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ural Ekaterinburg moved-up to second place. Planeta-Univ. lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Ural Ekaterinburg's next round opponent will be Severstal (#14) in Cherepovec which should be an easy win for them. Planeta-Univ. will play on the road against Spartak Vidnoye in Moscow.

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (11-9) defeated at home 10th ranked Avtodor (8-11) 94-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-22. But Avtodor won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TEMP-SUMZ Revda made 27-of-30 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Leader Universitet-Yugra delivered the nineteenth victory on Friday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Ryazan (12-9) 90-86 in Surgut. Universitet-Yugra made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Ryazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Vladimir Dyachok (204-80) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Anton Ageev (192-84) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Universitet-Yugra players scored in double figures. Guard Artem Isakov (192-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 23 points and 4 assists and center Nikita Stepanenkov (208-87) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra (19-2) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Ryazan at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Ruskon-Mord.. Universitet-Yugra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
