Leader CSKA Moscow delivered the twelfth win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Spartak-Prim. (3-7) 94-55. CSKA Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak-Prim.'s 24 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Spartak-Prim. 35-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. CSKA Moscow looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Spartak-Prim.'s players. The best player for the winners was international center Andrey Vorontsevich (207-87) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Dmitry Sokolov (214-85) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Nigerian Chamberlain Oguchi (198-86, college: Illinois St.) produced 10 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Moscow (12-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Spartak-Prim. at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. CSKA Moscow are looking forward to face BC Nizhny Novgorod (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak-Prim. will have a break next round.

The game in Nizhny Novgorod was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (8-6) played at the court of 8th ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (4-9). Spartak St.Petersburg did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 86-68. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 26-7 run, which allowed them to win the game. Spartak St.Petersburg dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Nizhny Novgorod to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nizhny Novgorod's 28 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. BC Nizhny Novgorod was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Spartak St.Petersburg players scored in double figures. International power forward Artem Yakovenko (205-88) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) added 12 points in the effort for BC Nizhny Novgorod. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spartak St.Petersburg moved-up to third place. BC Nizhny Novgorod lost their third game in a row. Avtodor Saratov (VTB) agreed terms with 25-year old American forward Coty Clarke (201-105kg-92, college: Arkansas, agency: BeoBasket).
