We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (20-35) in their last game. Despite Shved's very good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were badly defeated 127-111 on the road by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Shved also added 4 rebounds in 25 minutes on the court. It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row. It's Shved's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.2ppg, 2.4rpg, 4.1apg, 2FGP: 42.9%, 3FGP: 30.1% and FT: 73.9% in the 50 games he played so far. Shved is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Andrei Kirilenko (209-81, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Alexey Shved. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Kirilenko, who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Minnesota Timberwolves (20-35) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Kirilenko's good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were edged 100-99 in Oakland by the Golden State Warriors. He recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Kirilenko has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 13.1ppg, 6.0rpg, 3.0apg, 1.1bpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 56.9%(182-320), 3FGP: 30.8% and FT: 77.0%. Kirilenko is a naturalized American. He is in the roster of the Russian senior national team. Kirilenko used to play for CSKA Moscow in Russian league.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88, currently plays in Estonia). He was the major contributor in TU/Rock's victory against the league outsider Hito/Johvi (1-21) crushing them 90-51 in the Estonian KML in Friday night's game. Nelyubov recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. Tartu Ulikool/Rock (17-0) is placed second in the KML. So far his team won all seventeen games in the Regular Season. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Nelyubov's overall stats this season are: 7.8ppg, 4.1rpg. He played for the Russian university national team two years ago.

   #4. Forward Stanislav Dikiy (201-88, currently plays in Ukraine) was not able to secure a victory for Ferro-ZNTU (19-14) in their game against Dnipro (12-20) in the Ukrainian Superleague. Dikiy recorded 6 points and blocked 2 shots in 16 minutes. Ferro-ZNTU lost 66-78 in Dnepropetrovsk to the much lower-ranked (#12) Dnipro. It was Ferro-ZNTU's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Dikiy's overall stats are: 2.0ppg and 1.8rpg in the 23 games. He used to play for the Russian U18 national team back in 2006.

International center Timofey Mozgov (215-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Denver Nuggets to win against the Los Angeles Lakers (29-30) 119-108 in the NBA on Monday night. Mozgov scored only 2 points. The Denver Nuggets have a solid 38-22 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Mozgov's total stats this season are: 3.1ppg and 2.9rpg. He plays currently for the Russian national team.

   #6. Guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague couldn't help Kutaisi (1-0) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Babunashvili's good performance his team was edged 87-85 in Tbilisi by the lower-ranked Dinamo (#5). He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Babunashvili's total stats this season are: 5.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.9apg. He is a former U18 international player as he played for the Russian team five years ago.

Former U20 international center Ruslan Pateev (213-90, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Arizona St. (9-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Pateev's good performance the Arizona St. was defeated 68-59 at home by the The University of Washington. He scored 10 points. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Pateev has been at the team for four years. Pateev's total stats this season are: 2.5ppg and 1.5rpg. He used to play for the Russian U20 national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-C-80, currently plays in Greece) contributed to PAOK's victory against the 11th-ranked Kavala (5-13) 81-69 in the Greek A1 on Sunday night. He scored 9 points, had 10 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 19 minutes. PAOK Thessaloniki (12-6) is placed fourth in the A1. Papadopoulos is currently second on the list of best rebounders with 7.5rpg. This year his other stats are: 11.7ppg and 3.2apg in the 18 games he played so far. Papadopoulos has a dual citizenship: Russian and Greek.

   #2. Dmitry Flis (203-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) led River Andorra to a victory over the tenth-ranked Planasa NV (8-12) crushing them 78-53 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. Flis was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds in 30 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Flis is currently second on the list of best blockers with 1.4bpg. This year he also averages: 12.7ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.2spg in the 20 games. Flis is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Spanish.

   #3. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Belarus could not help Tsmoki-Minsk (1-5) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Tsmoki-Minsk was defeated 86-72 on the road by the second-ranked Telekom Baskets in the group L of EuroChallenge. Pustahvar was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 8 rebounds. The Top 16 already ended in the EuroChallenge. Pustahvar's overall stats this season are: 8.3ppg and 3.2rpg. He has both Russian and Belarusian nationalities.

   #4. Nikita Khartchenkov (200-F-87, currently plays in Germany) was the main contributor in NBC's victory against the closely-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (12-11) 90-82 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Khartchenkov was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in a mere 17 minutes. Nuernberger Basketball Club (11-12) is placed tenth in the ProA. This year Khartchenkov has relatively solid stats: 15.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.4apg in the seven games. He also holds two passports: Russian and German. Despite Khartchenkov's Russian nationality, he previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #5. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87, currently plays in Belarus) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Impuls BGUIR (8-14) 78-62 in the Belarusian Premier League last Tuesday. Indrikov was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. Indrikov also added 4 assists and 7 steals. BK Rubon Vitebsk (10-11) is placed third in the Premier League. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Indrikov is currently seventh on the league's list of top scorers. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.8apg and 2.0spg.

   #6. Aleksey Adediran (204-C-82, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Latvia) was the major contributor in Liepaja's victory against the closely-ranked Jelgava 84-70 in the Latvian LBL on Wednesday night. Adediran scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 29 minutes. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Adediran averages: 16.0ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.3apg in the three games. He has Nigerian and Russian nationalities.

   #7. Anton Kazarnovski (205-F/C-85, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a Hapoel Kazrin's victory against the closely-ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata 84-77 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Kazarnovski recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds. This season he has very high stats. Kazarnovski averages: 15.1ppg, 8.9rpg and 3.1apg. He has dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli. Despite Kazarnovski's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli university national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

   #8. Albert Kuppe (195-F-88, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Oettinger Rockets Gotha in their game against Science City Jena in the German ProA (second division), despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. Kuppe scored 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 28 minutes. But his team lost 87-97. This year Kuppe's total stats are: 7.6ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.4apg in the 23 games. He has dual citizenship: Russian and German. Despite Kuppe's Russian passport, he previously played for the German U18 national team.

   #9. Alexey Chubrevich (212-C-86, currently plays in Israel) helped Maccabi Haifa win their game against the league leader Maccabi Ashdod 95-85 in the Israeli Winner League on Monday night. Chubrevich scored 6 points in only 8 minutes. This year Chubrevich's total stats are: 2.5ppg and 1.5rpg in the 11 games. He has Russian and Israeli nationalities. Despite Chubrevich's Russian passport, he previously played for the Israeli university national team.

   #10. Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-C-81, currently plays in Georgia) was not able to secure a victory for Batumi in their game against Kutaisi in the Georgian Superleague. Kvelashvili recorded 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team lost 73-82. This year Kvelashvili's total stats are: 8.3ppg and 5.9rpg in the 15 games. He holds both Russian and Georgian passports.

Center Aleksandr Vertelov (205-C-91) had a great game in the last round for Dyn-Magn.ChL, receiving a Eurobasket.com Superleague 2 Player of the Week award for round 19.
