The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game between third ranked Novosybirsk (15-6) and eighth ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (12-9) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Novosybirsk was defeated by TEMP-SUMZ Revda in Revda 77-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. The game was mostly controlled by TEMP-SUMZ Revda. Novosybirsk managed to win third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Novosybirsk 35-24 including 23 on the offensive glass. TEMP-SUMZ Revda looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Novosybirsk's players. Forward Sergei Khlopov (198-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Guard Dmitriy Kachanko (200-86) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Anton Sayapin (205-86) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Novosybirsk. Novosybirsk's coach Sergei Kazarzhevsky rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. TEMP-SUMZ Revda have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo MO. Newly promoted Novosybirsk keeps the third position with six games lost. TEMP-SUMZ Revda is looking forward to face Planeta-Univ. (#12) in Ukhta in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Novosybirsk will play at home against Sojuz Zaretchny (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Twelfth ranked Planeta-Univ. (7-14) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (3-17) 79-76 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for forward Andrey Petukhov (207-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Anton Dudukin helped adding 14 points. point guard Denis Zakharov (193-93) responded with 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Planeta-Univ. maintains twelfth place with 7-14 record. Spartak Vidnoye lost fifth consecutive game. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Planeta-Univ. will play against higher ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Vidnoye will play against the league's second-placed Ural Ekaterinburg (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Ryazan (12-10) and Volgograd (7-12), which took place in Ryazan. Higher ranked Ryazan lost at home to twelfth ranked Volgograd 83-88 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for Artem Komissarov who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. Aleksei Vzdykhalkin came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Ryazan in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Volgograd moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Ryazan keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Volgograd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryazan will play against Dynamo Moscow (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another upset was a game between Ataman (13-9) and Dynamo Moscow (12-9), which took place in Rostov. 4th placed Ataman lost at home to ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow 66-72. The best player for the winners was Aleksei Savkov who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ataman's coach Boris Livanov let to play eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dynamo Moscow have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ. Ataman lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Dynamo Moscow's next round opponent will be Ryazan (#8) at home. Ataman will play against AltajBasket (#9) in Barnau.
The game between tenth ranked Avtodor (9-11) and 13th ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (4-17) in Saratov on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Avtodor outscored guests from Zaretchny 79-46. Alexander Lavnikov orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Avtodor maintains tenth place with 9-11 record. Sojuz Zaretchny lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Avtodor will face league's leader Universitet-Yugra in Surgut in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sojuz Zaretchny will play on the road against Novosybirsk (#3).

In the last two games of round 23 Ural Ekaterinb. smashed Severstal on the road 76-50. Ruskon-Mord. won against AltajBasket on its own court 71-62.


Avtodor - Sojuz Zaretchny 79-46

The game between tenth ranked Avtodor (9-11) and 13th ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (4-17) in Saratov on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Avtodor outscored guests from Zaretchny 79-46. The game without a history. Avtodor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sojuz Zaretchny to just 5 points in second quarter. Avtodor held Sojuz Zaretchny to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sojuz Zaretchny 47-20 including a 36-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Avtodor made 7 blocks. Sojuz Zaretchny was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Alexander Lavnikov (205-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Pavel Khomyakov (205-88) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Belarusian guard Maksim Shustau (188-86) added 6 points in the effort for Sojuz Zaretchny. No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (16-4) crushed 14th ranked Severstal (4-18) in Cherepovec 76-50 on Sunday. The game without a history. Ural Ekaterinburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Severstal to just 4 points in first quarter. It was a great shooting night for Ural Ekaterinburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Severstal was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Anton Glazunov (182-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Ural Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. Forward Evgeny Voytyuk (200-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 9 points and 12 rebounds and Tamirlan Bekkiev (204-92) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Severstal. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ural Ekaterinburg maintains second place with 16-4 record having just -11 point less than leader Univ.Surgut. Severstal lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Ural Ekaterinburg will face bottom-ranked Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in Moscow in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Very expected game when 9th ranked AltajBasket (11-10) lost to fifth ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (13-9) in Saransk 62-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-62. Power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (203-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. Forward Stanislav Sotnikov (200-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Ruskon-Mordovia's coach Algirdas Brazys used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Sergey Varlamov (209-84) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sergey Chernov (187-86) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for AltajBasket. Ruskon-Mordovia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ataman. Newly promoted AltajBasket keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Ruskon-Mordovia will face Severstal (#14) in Cherepovec in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AltajBasket will play at home against Ataman (#4) in Rostov.

Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Twelfth ranked Planeta-Univ. (7-14) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (3-17) 79-76 on Sunday evening. Planeta-Univ. shot 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Spartak Vidnoye only scored four points from the stripe. Planeta-Univ. had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Andrey Petukhov (207-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Anton Dudukin (209-86) helped adding 14 points. point guard Denis Zakharov (193-93) responded with 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and swingman Gleb Goldyrev (200-93) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Planeta-Univ. maintains twelfth place with 7-14 record. Spartak Vidnoye lost fifth consecutive game. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Planeta-Univ. will play against higher ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Vidnoye will play against the league's second-placed Ural Ekaterinburg (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Ryazan (12-10) and Volgograd (7-12), which took place in Ryazan. Higher ranked Ryazan lost at home to twelfth ranked Volgograd 83-88 on Sunday. Volgograd forced 20 Ryazan turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Artem Komissarov (200-90) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian point guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Guard Aleksei Vzdykhalkin (190-85, agency: Interperformances) came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Aleksey Kirjanov (206-81) added 17 points respectively for Ryazan in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Volgograd moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Ryazan keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Volgograd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryazan will play against Dynamo Moscow (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Another upset was a game between Ataman (13-9) and Dynamo Moscow (12-9), which took place in Rostov. 4th placed Ataman lost at home to ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow 66-72. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-14 Ataman's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-66 at the end of the game. Dynamo Moscow dominated on the defensive end, holding Ataman to just 4 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was guard Aleksei Savkov (196-79, agency: Alti Sport) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Nikita Morgunov (210-75, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points. Center Denis Beliaev (201-77, agency: Alti Sport) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Amiran Amirkhanov (187-86) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Ataman's coach Boris Livanov let to play eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dynamo Moscow have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ. Ataman lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Dynamo Moscow's next round opponent will be Ryazan (#8) at home. Ataman will play against AltajBasket (#9) in Barnau.
