Malcolm
Delaney
Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89, college: Virginia Tech) current player of Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia-VTB) gave an interview:

Why you decided to be a pro player

Because i loved sports and when I seen that I could do this to make a living it only made sense to follow my dream and do what I loved as a job

There are many players without a job fighting for the same spots, how hard is to wait for your ideal offer and not take the first that comes up considering that the next one may not come soon.

For me it's all about what situation fits the best for my end goal. Taking the first offer maybe good for people who don't have options but some players have multiple so they have to approach free agency in different ways. All depends on the player.

Which was the best game you had in your career so far?

Personally breaking the eurocup final 4 scoring record (38 pts) vs bilbao, and as a team every championship I've won is about equal.

Tell us your strong point and your weakness in your game.

The best part of my game is leadership, play making and efficiency. I'm still working on being the best point guard I can be. Limiting turnovers and playing defense.

Which player was the hardest opponent to play against?

Toughest players I've had was probably Sergio Rodriguez, Keith Langford, and milos Teodosic

Tell about the best teammates you had so far.

I have grown close to a lot of my teammates but Derrick brown, Richard Hendrix, Bryce Taylor, deon Thompson, frank Robinson, Chevy Troutman, Leo Lyons and Anthony Randolph are the ones I've grow close to and stay in touch with.

Which coach you want to thank because he made you better player.

The best coach I've ever had was my aau coach growing up, but in Europe coach Pesic brought the most out of my game, and I felt I improved the most under him.

Role player in a big team or star in a smaller one?

I think either role is fine as long as you're winning. I don't see a problem with either. Whoever wins the championship has the best role.

Which is your favorite basketball shoe? Which one you wear now?

My favorite basketball shoe ever probably retro Jordan 11 or 12. I'm currently playing in the Kobe 10

What plans you have for the future?

Hopefully to get my nba opportunity and stay there so that my family and friends can watch me play. Also the end goal is just to have a healthy, profitable career to set me up for a comfortable future.
