The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

An interesting game for Tambov (22-7) which hosted in Tambov 4th ranked Dynamo-CBK (15-14). First ranked Tambov had an easy win 71-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo-CBK. They outrebounded Dynamo-CBK 51-27 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tambov looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Andrey Voron (208-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Nikita Gresev (204-88) contributed with 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Tamirlan Bekkiev (204-92) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Dynamo-CBK. Dynamo-CBK's coach Oleg Filin rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tambov have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-7 record. Dynamo-CBK at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Tambov are looking forward to face Stroitiel Engels (#5) on the road in the next round. Dynamo-CBK will play against the league's second-placed Cheb.Yastreby in Cheboksari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Engels was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Cheb.Yastreby (20-10) played at the court of 5th ranked Stroitiel Engels (15-15). Cheb.Yastreby managed to secure a 5-point victory 85-80. Worth to mention a great performance of Stepan Getmanov (200-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals and Anton Bogdan who added 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. At the losing side power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (206-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. Cheb.Yastreby maintains second position with 20-10 record having just one point less than leader Tambov. Stroitiel Engels at the other side keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. Cheb.Yastreby will play against Dynamo-CBK (#4) in Stavropol in the next round. Stroitiel Engels will play at home against the league's leader Tambov and hope to get back on the winning track.

Burevestnik will play against Spartak St.Petersburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 28 bottom-ranked Runa Basket was beaten by Spartak SP on the road 84-80.

Stroitiel Engels - Cheb.Yastreby 80-85

The game in Engels was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Cheb.Yastreby (20-10) played at the court of 5th ranked Stroitiel Engels (15-15). Cheb.Yastreby managed to secure a 5-point victory 85-80. Cheb.Yastreby made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Cheb.Yastreby players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Stroitiel Engels were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Stepan Getmanov (200-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals and power forward Anton Bogdan (198-86) who added 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Spartak St.Petersburg's (13-17) home victory over bottom-ranked Runa Basket (4-26) 84-80 on Wednesday. The winners were led by forward Alexey Babushkin (196-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Denis Hloponin (206-81) supported him with 21 points. Spartak St.Petersburg's coach Alexey Vasiliev used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, college: JMU) did not help to save the game for Runa Basket. Point guard Kirill Sokolov (192-93) added 20 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spartak St.Petersburg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Burevestnik. Runa Basket lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 26 lost games. Spartak St.Petersburg will meet at home Burevestnik (#6) in the next round. Runa Basket will play against Dyn-Magn.ChL and hope to secure a win.

48-year old head coach Evgeny Pashutin (agency: BeoBasket) left Unics Kazan (VTB). Pashutin has coached there for the last three years. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he coached in the final of VTB United League in 2012, 2013 and 2016.
