The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Tambov (22-8) on the court of fifth ranked Stroitiel Engels on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Stroitiel Engels 91-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tambov. Stroitiel Engels dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tambov's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (206-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Anton Ageev (191-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 29 points and 8 assists. Forward Nikita Gresev (204-88) responded with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Stroitiel Engels (16-15) moved-up to fourth place. Tambov at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Stroitiel Engels are looking forward to face higher ranked Dyn-Magn.ChL (#3) in Cheliabinsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tambov will play at home against Runa Basket and is hoping to win this game.

Guard Vladislav Smorkachev (192-97) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds for Dynamo-CBK in the defeat. Dynamo-CBK's coach Oleg Filin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cheb.Yastreby maintains second place with 21-10 record behind leader Tambov. Dynamo-CBK at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Cheb.Yastreby will play against Burevestnik (#7) in Jaroslav in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dynamo-CBK will play on the road against Spartak St.Petersburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Spartak St.Petersburg managed to secure a 6-point victory 85-79 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Vitaliy Zuev who scored 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Artem Pisarchuk produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Spartak St.Petersburg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Burevestnik dropped to the seventh position with 18 games lost. Spartak St.Petersburg will meet at home higher ranked Dynamo-CBK (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Burevestnik will play against the league's second-placed Cheb.Yastreby and hope to secure a win.

Aleksey Osokin orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dyn-Magn.ChL maintains third place with 18-13 record having three points less than leader Tambov. Runa Basket lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 27 lost games. Dyn-Magn.ChL's next round opponent will be Stroitiel Engels (#4) on the road. Runa Basket will play against the league's leader Tambov (#1) and hope to win that game.

Cheb.Yastreby - Dynamo-CBK 96-91

The game between Top Four teams took place in Cheboksari. Second ranked host Cheb.Yastreby (21-10) defeated 4th placed Dynamo-CBK (15-15) 96-91. Cheb.Yastreby players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Dynamo-CBK was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Stepan Getmanov (200-96) nailed a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists and 8 steals for the winning side and power forward Sergey Zhulkov (203-95) accounted for 31 points and 9 rebounds. Four Cheb.Yastreby players scored in double figures. Spartak St.Petersburg managed to secure a 6-point victory 85-79 on Thursday. Spartak St.Petersburg made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Vitaliy Zuev (186-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Alexey Babushkin (196-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Aleksey Osokin (178-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Sergei Dubinin (206-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Dyn-Magn.ChL players scored in double figures.
