We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Baltic League). Balashov contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked BK Ogre (6-6) crushing them 97-64 in the Baltic League in Wednesday night's game. He scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys (11-1) is placed first in group B. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Balashov's first season with the team. Balashov has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 62.1%(36-58), 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 58.8%. He is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U18 international forward Stanislav Dikiy (201-88, currently plays in Ukraine). Dikiy could not help VolinBasket (4-20) to beat Zaporizhya (10-13). He was the second best scorer with 8 points. VolinBasket was crushed 82-54 on the road by the higher-ranked Zaporizhya (#6). It was VolinBasket's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Dikiy averages: 7.8ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 88.2%. He played for the Russian U18 national team in 2006.

   #3. The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international guard Alex Dubovitskiy (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States). Dubovitskiy was not able to help the Chicago St. in their game against the Grand Canyon State University (4-5) in the NCAA. He cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. Dubovitskiy recorded only 3 points in 21 minutes. The Chicago St. was crushed 82-59 at home by the Grand Canyon State University. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Dubovitskiy averages just 0.8ppg, 2FGP: 25.0%, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 25.0% in 19 games he played so far. He played for the Russian U20 national team three years ago.

   #4. Center Nikolay Rogozhkin (221-93, also represented by Alti Sport, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for UCAM Murcia II (11-7) in their game against Myrtia (15-2) in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Rogozhkin cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The third-placed UCAM Murcia II (11-7) was defeated 73-62 in a derby game by the leading Myrtia in the Group E. It was UCAM Murcia II's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Rogozhkin's overall stats this season are: 4.1ppg and 3.5rpg. He used to play for the Russian U20 national team back in 2013.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Marsel Ovsepyan (200-C-90, currently plays in Belarus) could not help Vitebsk (15-11) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Vitebsk was crushed 90-69 at home by the leading Grodno-93. Ovsepyan was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was Vitebsk's first loss after three consecutive victories. It's Ovsepyan's first season with the team. This year Ovsepyan averages: 8.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg in 17 games he played so far.

   #2. Egor Koulechov (196-G/F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Rice to a 1-point victory against the University of Southern Mississippi (8-5) 72-71 in the NCAA last Thursday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 11 rebounds. The Rice University has 7-5 conference record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Koulechov has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.7ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.9apg. Koulechov has a dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli.

   #3. Albert Kuppe (200-F-88, currently plays in Germany) led MLP Academics Heidelberg to a victory over the 13th-ranked Nuernberg (8-15) crushing them 101-71 in the German ProA (second division) on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Kuppe scored 29 points (!!!), had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in 24 minutes. MLP Academics Heidelberg (16-1) is placed first in the ProA. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Kuppe averages: 9.1ppg and 3.0rpg in 23 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Russian and German. Despite Kuppe's Russian nationality, he previously played for the German U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #4. Experienced Vladimir Veremeenko (208-F-84, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Brose Baskets in their game against Zalgiris (10-13) in the Euroleague. Veremeenko scored only 4 points in 3 minutes on the court. The 12th-placed Brose Baskets (8-15) lost 86-91 on the road to the higher-ranked (#10) Zalgiris in the group A of Euroleague. This year Veremeenko averages: 2.1ppg and 1.3rpg in 18 games. He has both Belarusian and Russian nationalities.

   #5. Anton Kazarnovski (206-F/C-85, currently plays in Germany) was the main contributor in a BG Karlsruhe's victory against the leader Karlsruhe PS (14-6) 79-75 in a derby game in the German ProB (third division) on Saturday night. Kazarnovski was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points, grabbed 7 boards, handed out 7 passes and blocked 2 shots. BG Karlsruhe (11-9) is placed sixth in South group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Kazarnovski has very high stats. He averages: 15.4ppg, 7.2rpg and 2.1apg. Kazarnovski also holds two passports: Russian and Israeli. Despite his Russian nationality, Kazarnovski previously played for the Israeli university national team and probably cannot be called to the Russian team.

   #6. Alexey Chubrevich (212-C-86, currently plays in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Hapoel Holon in their game against Hapoel Eilat in the Israeli Winner League. He cannot count it as his best performance. Chubrevich recorded only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 24 minutes. His team lost 66-81. This year Chubrevich averages: 5.6ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.1bpg in 18 games. He has dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli.

   #7. Igor Simin (199-SF-84, currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Hasharon (10-10) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Simin's very good performance Hasharon was defeated 94-90 in Raanana by the higher-ranked Maccabi (#5). He scored 16 points. This season Simin averages: 8.9ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.6apg. Similarly like Chubrevich and Kazarnovski above He holds both Russian and Israeli passports. Despite Simin's Russian nationality, he previously played for the Israeli U21 national team.

   #8. Pavel Micheev (201-F-83, currently plays in Kazakhstan) was the major contributor in a Barsy Atyrau's victory against the league outsider Kaspiy Aktau crushing them 83-60 in the Kazakhstan National League on Wednesday night. Micheev recorded 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 35 minutes. This year Micheev averages: 9.8ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg in 12 games. He has Russian and Kazakhstan nationalities.

   #9. Alexei Ekimov (210-F/C-81, currently plays in Finland) couldn't help JyWe (4-17) in their last game. Despite Ekimov's good performance the 13th-placed JyWe was crushed 103-72 in Turun by the leading TuNMKY in the Division B. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds in 24 minutes. This year Ekimov has relatively solid stats: 11.2ppg, 9.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.4bpg in 19 games.

   #10. Dmitriy Flis (204-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Ourense's victory against one of league's weakest teams Marin 86-78 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Saturday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Flis has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.3spg. He has Russian and Spanish nationalities.

Russian powerhouseCSKA Moscow (VTB) is close to ink 27-year old American forward Will Clyburn (201-95kg-90, college: Iowa State) who currently plays Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul in Turkey. In 25 BSL games he recorded 10.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.4apg this season. He was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game. 48-year old head coach Evgeny Pashutin (agency: BeoBasket) left Unics Kazan (VTB). Pashutin has coached there for the last three years. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he coached in the final of VTB United League in 2012, 2013 and 2016. Pashutin was also voted Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Coach of the Year back in 2012 and 2013.
