Linas Lekavicius gets MVP of the Week award for Russian Superleague 1 - Mar 8, 2017

Linas
Lekavicius
Experienced Lithuanian Linas Lekavicius (186-PG-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Univ.Surgut and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 32-year old playmaker had a double-double of 24 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Sakhalin (#5, 13-8) 87-73. It allowed Univ.Surgut to jump to the first place in the Russian Superleague 1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Univ.Surgut has a very solid 15-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Lekavicius had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Univ.Surgut's top player in his first season with the team. Linas Lekavicius averages this season 12.8ppg and 6.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old power forward Maxim Krivosheev (207-F/C-88) of Spartak-Prim.. Krivosheev impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Spartak-Prim. lost that game 79-89 to the lower-ranked MBA Moscow (#10, 7-13). Spartak-Prim. managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 12-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Krivosheev is a newcomer at Spartak-Prim. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.1ppg (#7). He also registered 9.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Spartak-Prim.'s star - Fedor Klyuchnikov (192-G-90). Klyuchnikov got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for four assists. Despite Klyuchnikov's great performance Spartak-Prim. lost 79-89 to the lower-ranked MBA Moscow (#10, 7-13). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Spartak-Prim. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 9 lost games. Klyuchnikov has a great season in Russia. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (best scorer) and assists with 3.7apg (7th best). He also has FGP: 67.2% and 3PT: 47.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alimdzhan Fedyushin (210-C/F-89) of TEMP-SUMZ - 27 points and 8 rebounds
5. Sergey Tokarev (189-G-85) of Novosybirsk - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Aleksey Karpeko (204-C-89) of Kupol-Rodniki - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Evgeny Karpeko (204-F-89) of Ryazan - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Alexander Savenkov (205-F-82) of Univ.Surgut - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Vladimir Lidyaev (203-C-87) of Kupol-Rodniki - 15 points and 6 rebounds
10. Dramir Zibirov (187-G-86) of Sakhalin - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
