The Regular Season in Superleague 2 just ended.

The game between second ranked Cheb.Yastreby (23-12) and eighth ranked Runa Basket (5-30) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Cheb.Yastreby was defeated by Runa Basket in a tough game in Moscow 89-98. Runa Basket made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, college: JMU) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Arseniy Metreveli (189-95) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Runa Basket's coach Jovan Popovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Nikita Tkachenko (205-94) who recorded 28 points. Newly promoted Runa Basket maintains eighth place with 5-30 record. Cheb.Yastreby at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost.

It was a good game for swingman Igor Kaytukov (195-90) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Yuriy Kochnev contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Dynamo-CBK's coach Oleg Filin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Aleksey Osokin (178-89) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for Dyn-Magn.ChL. Dynamo-CBK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 18-17 record. Dyn-Magn.ChL at the other side keeps the third position with 15 games lost.
Leader Tambov delivered the twenty sixth victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Burevestnik (14-21) 77-72. Andrey Voron stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Artem Isakov with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Tambov maintains first place with 26-9 record. Loser Burevestnik keeps the seventh position with 21 games lost.

The game with biggest result difference took place in Engels. Local Stroitiel Engels (17-18) were outscored by sixth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (17-18) 88-47. Spartak St.Petersburg held Stroitiel Engels to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.1 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Spartak St.Petersburg forced 21 Stroitiel Engels turnovers and outrebounded them 37-24 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Vitaliy Zuev (186-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) nailed 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and forward Denis Hloponin (206-81) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds. BK Burevestnik Jaroslav (Superleague 2) landed 27-year old power forward Andrey Chernysh (212-97kg-90). He played most recently at Spartak Primorie Vladivostok in the Superleague 1.
