We bring you last week's top performances from Russians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Lithuania). He led P.Zvaigzdes to a victory over the closely-ranked Dzukija (8-24) crushing them 82-53 in the Lithuanian LKL on Saturday night. Balashov was MVP of the game. He scored 15 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 20 minutes on the court. Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys (14-18) is placed seventh in the LKL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Balashov's first season with the team. This year Balashov averages: 7.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 61.6%(61-99), 3FGP: 41.7% and FT: 62.1% in 21 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Russian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international power forward Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, also represented by Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland). Dmitriev contributed to Anwil's victory against the closely-ranked BM Slam Stal (20-9) 75-71 in the Polish PLK last Sunday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Anwil Wloclawek (22-7) is placed first in the PLK. It was his team's 12th consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Dmitriev's overall stats are: 6.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 39.7%, 3FGP: 35.9% and FT: 75.0% in 27 games. He played for the Russian national team in 2006.

The Russian player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international center Anatoly Kashirov (215-87, currently plays in Lithuania) faced previously mentioned Nikita Balashov in the Lithuanian LKL last game. Kashirov. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Dzukija (8-24) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kashirov's very good performance Dzukija was crushed 82-53 on the road by the higher-ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#7). He was the top scorer with 16 points. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Kashirov has relatively good stats this season: 10.3ppg, 4.7rpg, 2FGP: 45.6% and FT: 66.7%. Former Spartak St.Petersburg starter played for the Russian university national team six years ago.

   #4. Guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90, currently plays in Georgia) managed to help Kutaisi Kutaisi in a 2-point victory against one of league's weakest teams Batumi (9-17) 81-79 in the Georgian Superleague last Tuesday. Babunashvili scored only 4 points in 17 minutes. Kutaisi Kutaisiis placed in the Superleague. This year Babunashvili's total stats are: 3.3ppg and 1.8rpg in 20 games. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Georgian. Babunashvili used to play for the Russian U18 national team back in 2008.

   #5. Former U20 international center Nikolay Rogozhkin (221-93, another player represented by Alti Sport, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an UCAM Murcia II's victory against the second-ranked Valencia-2 (7-6) 83-77 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Rogozhkin scored 11 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in a mere 17 minutes. UCAM Murcia II (6-8) is placed fourth in Group E Clasif. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Rogozhkin has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 3.8rpg in 23 games. He used to play for the Russian U20 national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Russian passport but never been selected to any of Russian national teams:

   #1. Alexey Chubrevich (212-C-86, currently plays in Israel) led Hapoel Holon to a victory against the closely-ranked Bnei Hasharon (16-11) 79-75 in the Israeli Winner League in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Hapoel Unet Holon (18-9) is placed first in the Winner League. It's Chubrevich's first season with the team. This year Chubrevich averages: 5.9ppg and 4.0rpg in 26 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli.

   #2. Experienced Vladimir Veremeenko (208-F-84, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Brose Baskets' victory against the 14th-ranked Walter Tigers (9-23) 87-75 in the German BBL last Thursday. Veremeenko scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Brose Baskets Bamberg (26-3) is placed second in the BBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Veremeenko's first season with the team. This year he averages: 5.5ppg and 2.8rpg. Veremeenko is another player who holds two passports: Belarusian and Russian.

   #3. Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-SF-85, currently plays in Hungary) could not help Falco KC (18-11) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Pustahvar's very good performance the fifth-placed Falco KC (18-11) was badly defeated 102-86 on the road by the second-ranked Kormend in the Places 1-5 group. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Pustahvar also added 5 passes. Pustahvar has relatively good stats this season: 12.4ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.6apg. He has both Belarusian and Russian nationalities.

   #4. Dmitriy Glebov (196-F-84, currently plays in Ukraine) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Dnipro in their game against Khimik (22-5) in the Ukrainian Superleague. He scored only 4 points and added 4 assists in 26 minutes. Dnipro lost 71-75 in Yuzhny to the second-ranked Khimik. This year Glebov's total stats are: 5.6ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.3apg in 13 games.

   #5. Marsel Ovsepyan (200-C-90, currently plays in Belarus) helped Vitebsk win their game against the closely-ranked Tsmoki II (20-12) 75-70 in the Belarusian Premier League last Friday. He recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Vitebsk OBK-Voktsor (21-11) is placed third in the Premier League. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Ovsepyan's total stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.7apg and 1.5spg.

   #6. Alexander Matveev (194-G-91, currently plays in Belarus) was not able to secure a victory for Impuls BGUIR in their game against Grodno-93 in the Belarusian Premier League. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 87-69. This year Matveev's total stats are: 6.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.7apg and 1.6spg in 23 games.

   #7. Albert Kuppe (200-F-88, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help MLP Academics Heidelberg (19-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the league leader MLP Academics Heidelberg was defeated 71-64 in Kirchheim by the lower-ranked Knights (#4). Kuppe was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Kuppe's total stats this season are: 9.1ppg and 2.7rpg. He also holds two passports: Russian and German. Despite Kuppe's Russian nationality, he previously played for the German U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Russian team.

   #8. Dmitriy Flis (204-F/C-84, currently plays in Spain) helped Ourense win their game against the 12th-ranked Caceres Basket 71-65 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He recorded 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. This season Flis has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1spg. He has Russian and Spanish nationalities.

   #9. Igor Simin (199-SF-84, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Maccabi Hod Hasharon to win against the leader Maccabi Raanana 73-69 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Wednesday. Simin recorded only 3 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Simin has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.5apg. He holds both Russian and Israeli passports.

   #10. Anton Kazarnovski (206-F/C-85, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help BG Karlsruhe in their game against Weissenhorn Youngstars in the German ProB (third division). Kazarnovski scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 76-59. This year Kazarnovski has relatively solid stats: 13.7ppg, 6.9rpg and 2.3apg in 26 games. He has Russian and Israeli nationalities.

Avtodor Saratov (VTB) landed 23-year old international center Artem Klimenko (214-114kg-94). It is actually his comeback to Saratov as he has played here before. Klimenko played most recently at Unics in Russian VTB league. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). But in 9 Euroleague games he averaged just 1.2ppg and 1.1rpg. BC Khimki Moscow Region (VTB) re-signed 29-year old international guard Alexey Shved (198-73kg-88, agency: Alti Sport). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 14 Eurocup games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 5.2apg and 1.2spg last season. Shved helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. Khimky-Podmoskovye Moscow Region (Superleague 1) re-signed 21-year old center Rodion Ardislamov (215-102kg-96). He played there last season. But in three Superleague 1 games he averaged just 1.3ppg. He played in the final of Russian VTB Youth League. The previous (15-16) season Ardislamov played at Dynamo-CBK Stavropol (Superleague 2) where in 30 games he had 5.7ppg and 3.2rpg.
