U18 FYR MACEDONIA - U18 SCOTLAND 66-59

FYROM finally registered first win at U18 EuroBasket Division B in Strumica. The host of this event handed 66-59 loss to Scotland for 1-2 record in Group H. Scotland dropped to 0-4 and will end as the last ranked team of this pool. FYROM was down by 5 points with ten minutes to go, but they shined after that making 20-8 in Q4 to celebrate the first win in Strumica. Quarters: 12-10, 21-20, 13-21, 20-8. Aleksandra Stojanovska (178-SF-94) paced hosts with 21 points. Ivana Kmetovska (186-PF-95) (6 rebs) and Dragana Jolovik (184-F-94) netted 12 and 11 points respectively. In Scotland, Jennifer Crawford (177-F-95) delivered 14 points. Claire Paxton (184-C-94) (8 rebs) and Hilary Wood (163-G-94) netted 11 and 9 pts. Scotland already played all of its four games at this stage. They will fight to avoid last place in Strumica. FYROM will meet Ukraine today.

Host teams show no mercy winning all games. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Lady Rocks (1-1) in Dundee on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Tayside (2-1) 69-53. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Tayside moved-up to second place. Lady Rocks at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Boroughmuir. Round 3 most important game was a defeat of Tayside (1-1). They were crushed by Edinburgh Kool Kats (1-2) 72-53 on Friday night. Tayside will play next round against strong Lady Rocks trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Edinburgh Kool Kats will try to continue on its current victory against Polonia Phoenix.
